When I open the UV editor and scale it uniformly (ctrl + alt ), I get this...

Yet outside of the UV editor the UV selection looks like this...

Is something wrong with the model? Because all I see is two hands and some weird shapes that don't make sense for the rest of the model. I'm not sure if Xenosaga III is just not a friendly game to rip from, or if this is how it goes for most games, either way it seems wrong.

Looks to me like you have objects that use different textures selected.

And the way it looks outside to uv editor is how it should be.

after you scale all the UVs, export the model as an object, and reimport it, it should look normal.

Very nice and informative. Looks like it can get pretty complex when it comes to ripping models >_>

Check and see what version of PCSX2 you have. You must have PCSX2 0.9.8. Any version after that doesn't give you an .obj file anymore (or so I believe).

Is there any other known way of doing this with out texmod? when i try to use it my pc freaks out, nothing happens then 5 seconds later i get 3 to 5 messages about viruses. all the other programs work fine though, no idea what i did wrong. : /

RE: [Tutorial] How to rip PS2 models v.2 - Doronetty - 04-10-2013

I heard that Ninja Ripper can rip 3D models from latest PCSX2 builds (DX11-mode) already in T-pose! Anybody tryed this method?

RE: [Tutorial] How to rip PS2 models v.2 - reek39 - 04-10-2013

This program looks great, but it seems to only work with .exe files. I'm trying to rip from DBZ BT3, which i have the iso file for.

You either need to disable your antivirus while ripping the textures or add an exception to you antivirus for texmod. i would sujjest the latter

I tried it on a couple games and while it makes slightly cleaner rips
the models are way over sized and needs some editing to look right. the models do not seem to rip in a t-pose though.
however it seems to work great for ripping textures. it rips the textures in dds format and don't need any fixing.

you rip the models through pcsx2 to get them. however i already have all, if not most, of the characters from that game. just send me a pm and i'll send you them

Thank you very much for your help! I am gonna try and rip them myself to get some experience with ripping, I'm still a major noob at it lol. And i am also after the sound files, do you do a similar thing to get those?

And if all else fails i may come back to you and ask for the models. Tongue
