I was using this as a reference. Notice the way the characters are lit: the light is coming from the sides/in front, and the middle of the face is quite dark, whereas the chin is lighter. This is recurring throughout the artwork, so it's good to pick up on it. Try and get similar proportions; you were on a good start with the shape of the head, you just had to tweak the eyes and a few other things.
You're almost there! Smile

Part one of Backwards Jump: he gets picked up by a balloon!
Each time the character jumps backwards, a different balloon design is randomly generated from the four in the sheet

I still have to do the landing: He'll let go of the balloon and go into the landing sprites of Jump forward (which are yet to be made), and the balloon will either dissappear, float offscreen, or pop; I haven't decided.

I love the idea of variation with the balloons. It's a really nice touch.

On another note:

I remade mine but I took a lot of notes from C2B's version since... well, it's better. Then I slapped a stache on one because why the hell not.

Also, should I have a mouth or no? I only added it (and the mustache actually) so it wouldn't have a lot of blank space, but idk if thats really an issue.

It's looking great! If you do add a mouth, I suggest you make it end higher, like in Jojo: there's quite a lot of space for the chin, and the mouth is nearer the nose.

I might, or I may just make it blank to stay true to my characters design, either way, thanks for the help.

the shading on the blue part looks kinda weird and could use a bit of work

RE: tFR:SDtW Non Gors Workshop - Garamonde - 05-06-2012

It looks fine to me, personally.

The activity in this thread has inspired me to do more work on mine... unfortunately I'm too embarrassed by my sketches to post them, but I'm trying really hard to improve them. Just wanted everyone to know how awesome their work is so far.

Wait... How many mugshots do we need?

RE: tFR:SDtW Non Gors Workshop - TomGuycott - 05-06-2012

I think only like 1 or 2, but C2B goes A&B.

(above and beyond)

Eh, I decided to post the sketches since I burned myself out for the night. Shield your eyes.

His head is rather rockin' actually.

Looks like Protoman at the moment

RE: tFR:SDtW Non Gors Workshop - Gors - 05-06-2012

the funniest part is that I didn't even list the mugshot in the basic sprite list

all ground, basics attacks compiled C:

they seem rather faster than i would expect, but the only way to make them slower would be breaking the 4 frame restriction, and i already did that.
