Starting on... well, I plan on it being my "kick" attack. Still working on it, just wanted to get the basic attack planned out.

EDIT- Yeah, I'm more or less tracking the sword in the way the kicks would have gone (first was more of a spin kick but the point of impact is more or less the same), but I figured this would look neater.

I think that it's possible that we are interpreting the blocking move differently, I was thinking of it as a button or combo that you would hold down to remain in guarding status to reduce damage, minimize knockback, and prevent negative statuses while preventing you from attacking, such as in Street Fighter. Both of your defense animations look like robo is in the middle of deflecting an attack, and the shield vanishes after he has suceeded in doing so. I am not sure if this is intentional or not, if it isn't, I suggest that you keep that outwards pulse (whick I like a lot, by the way Smile) but have a more solid seeming shield floating behind it constantly, as if it was generating the pulse, I will draw up an example of what I mean in a moment.

I thought that usually in fighting games the defense is triggered when attacked while walking/holding backwards.

You could at least try and looking how an ET Feild from Neon Genesis Evangelion is animated; it could help.

Oh thanks StarSock, I couldn't see it until I did that.
I still prefer NICK's though... he should make it so it looks like it covers a larger area like Sir. Z's.

Very minor tweaks to what Sir Zadaben did, but it does indeed look better.

Still not super happy with this. I'll tweak it more some other time. I think one of the issues is that I used motion blurs where they weren't needed which should be an easy fix.

It looks like a wall of honey combs though and it doesn't quite work well with [robo9].
