RE: Videogames that you hate - Chutzpar - 09-04-2011

It would seem that some people have far greater emotional investment in disagreements on the internet than the Big Spooky Cabal of Sarcastic Posters that allegedly makes up Skrew these days.

Is it really putting that much of a strain on your life to think that some red-haired fatty on the other side of the planet thinks you're being unfair about Farmville?
Seriously I'm not being even remotely sarcastic. Why do any of you fucking care that I disagree with you?

Please don't pull this card, its more than obvious that the arguments get out of hand here.
Its as though if you aren't politically TSR correct, you are racist, an idiot, sexist, stupid, close minded ect. The last sentence is more so to past events than what I noticed very recently, although it tends to rear up still.
EDIT: Tachi, because you have to be so unfair about someone else's opinion. The internets not some voidless place where emotions don't have any value, you can still get your feelings hurt on the internet. Mine were pretty severely oh about a month and a half ago.

Because the red-haired fatty likes to push the topic at every chance she gets.

It's not about being disagreed with, it's about the attitude those who disagree are taking. There are respectful ways to tell somebody they're wrong, or that you have a different opinion, and then there's simply running your mouth to look better.

Don't we have discussions about not sugarcoating in Sprite Discussion? Whats the difference?

These discussions usually go on for a while before it gets disrespectful and people start name calling.

Except the male gaze thread, which was probably disrespectful from the beginning due to it being what it is.

Wait, what?

RE: Videogames that you hate - Maxpphire - 09-04-2011

Why is this discussion even happening?

No seriously, stop. I have enough to worry about with the newbies that come and have no clue what they are doing, I literally do have not have time to babysit all of you because you don't like the way people word things.

If they are literally being so outright offensive to you, then warn the post, take it up with them in the PMs, or do both. You literally do not need to derail a thread over this shit.

Eh, I think this is pretty necessary, to be honest. There's a lot more to this than simply how people word things, making out the problem to be less important than it is isn't gonna make it go away. People are still gonna be pissed, so we're gonna need to settle this shit eventually (though this topic specifically might not be the best place for it)

RE: Videogames that you hate - Maxpphire - 09-04-2011

Oh I'm sorry, who's the staff member here? Last time I checked it was me. What are staff member's job? To resolve fights that are happening on the forums so things don't get out of hand.

What I was saying with that post is "If you have a problem with another member, either take it up with them privately instead of derailing a thread to the point of it getting locked, or you can have a Staff member fix the issue instead of derailing a thread to the point of it getting locked."

Last time I checked Derailing a thread is a thing in the rules. A thing that you don't do.

Now I'm just going to lock this thread instead of letting this pile of dung continue. If I see this discussion start coming out in other threads, I'm going to start dishing out warns.

Discussion Over.
