My pixel art - Toshio - 07-31-2011

Any sugestions? Also, I'm looking for sprites which may work as reference for animating walking frames and others.

Its a good start, but there is some room for improvement. I think you should play around with the shade color for skin, I looked at the art-style from the game and instead of using such a pink tone for the shading use a more tan color shade.

The hair's shade color need to be a tad darker, and it'll instantly look better. And my final thought is add a little bit more a/a on the feet, socks and bottom of her shirt. Then we should be good.

The biggest problem here is the lineart. It seems you only used the line tool in MSpaint and randomly scribbled with the pencil for the rest. You need more curves in your lineart, it looks blocky at the moment.
Now, I think the colors look nice.

Try adding a sense of lighting, shading, etc. Looks cool as line art though. Big Grin

Any examples? The original source have a pretty simple shadding.
