RE: Why did you change your identity(ies)? (avatar/signature/others) - puggsoy - 05-21-2012

I'm just glad that this forum doesn't have sig restrictions, another forum had it and I couldn't fit in a Dilbert comic Rolleyes
But yeah, some sigs here could use with a slim-down. I'm actually not too bothered by massive sigs, as long as my mouse scrolling works fine then I'm patient enough. However I understand that some people would prefer not to have the majority of a post be a signature. Mine's OK though, right?

Oh, by the way, slightly modified mine to show that the Dilbert comic is today's one. And for those who haven't noticed yet, that hat links to my sprite rips thread.

i used to have a bigger one, so I promptly changed my project icons to those 64x64 tiles, which is more than enough for me and the rest of the people. as i said, it's a common sense thing, heh Wink

How could anyone complain about a Dilbert comic? In all seriousness though yours in the level I think is acceptable, while Arisia (damn that's got to be a username change as I know I recognise your work) is on the "Hmm that looks a bit big" level, but you know - personal opinion and all that. As long as I don't have to scroll half a screen down to read the next post I'm not too fussed - I just think a large sig makes a person look a bit "noobish" as it were.

RE: Why did you change your identity(ies)? (avatar/signature/others) - puggsoy - 05-21-2012

Depends on the content, really. I mean, if it's a massive 600x600 animation of something random then sure, it's noobish, but if it's filled with a list of all your rips and other projects ever, then not as much. Sure, the person doesn't have common sense, but they're not really "noobish".

By the way, Arisa is who used to be Gors/Gorsal. Apparently he changed it because of Sengi~, or something. I don't really get it, but you can check out the epic saga of how it happened here.

come on, it shouldn't be hard with this huge GORS grafitti in my sig

not to say you could... click on my project buttons Genki ^_^

Gors said I wasn't moe enough so he made the Sengi~ character by twisting my bug character into this "cute little girl-bug"
But now Gors and Kachua have moved on to drawing """Human Sengi~""", a fairy girl

I'm not sure if I should be flattered, worried or just plain creeped out...........

Thought it might have been your better half or something Wink

RE: Why did you change your identity(ies)? (avatar/signature/others) - alexmach1 - 05-21-2012

my sig used to be 1024x480, but apparently no one wants to see every detail of a hydralisk having his cup of tea Very Sad
and my trophy rigging project doesnt get much attention because of school and learning how to rig better.

RE: Why did you change your identity(ies)? (avatar/signature/others) - Garamonde - 05-21-2012

Do I really have to change it now...? Blank
I usually keep the image portion of my sig. 400px tall (but this one is actually only 315px width and height), so that I can actually see all/most details, but...
Most people's sigs don't look big to me personally (even Gorsal's), including mine, but I guess I must shrink it to 300/250px now because I can't arrange my links any other way.

RE: Why did you change your identity(ies)? (avatar/signature/others) - Previous - 05-22-2012

My home board has quite strict signature rules: Absolutely no images (except for small emoticons) and maximally 100px in height. :-)

If you want to hear my opinion, I think that all these project icons are perfectly fine, but I don't see the point in having larger images in a signature. There's an avatar on the right and a supposedly small signature at the bottom of a post, but the post itself should be the dominant part. Images should go to profile pages (though this MyBB lacks such a feature, it seems) or your wallpaper or Tumblr or something. That's how I see it.

not gonna lie, your signature takes up my entire screen on my laptop
you might wanna think about something (much) smaller vertically for an image and remove the project buttons or reorient them so that they don't add more vertical space.

Agree, agree and agree. Yes having projects there is fine. But do we need a large GORS wall graffiti or a giant piece of pixel art? I think not! Same goes for dancing people. Showing people what your doing and having an amusing (well meant to be amusing picture in the case of Vipershark Wink ) is fine but when they're stacked on top of each other it gets pretty ridiculous. Look how many post on this page alone have a bigger sig than post!

RE: Why did you change your identity(ies)? (avatar/signature/others) - Garamonde - 05-22-2012

Changed...
Gorsal's is now bigger than mine. Cool

RE: Why did you change your identity(ies)? (avatar/signature/others) - Virt - 05-27-2012

Changed my avatar from a while back because a picture of my Ref saying Comments and Criticisms is good is a lot more original than an animated .gif of Tails kicking and punching invisible walls.
