Hopefully they didn't make a nest already.

I've never heard of a flying ant before.

When I lived in west virginia for like a year, I never encountered them.
I haven't encountered them in alabama or georgia either. I'm curently in connecticut and they are non-existant here.

It appears to be a mix between a tiny wasp/fly and an ant with wings. They can fly but they're mostly just crawling on my curtains.

Looks like a flying-ant, and well it is the season for them. Make sure you kill them, you don't want one starting a nest in your window.

Yeah Dazz told me it was most likely a flying ant. I too had never heard of such a thing. I try to kill them but they keep coming. Also I'm running out of tissues so... I guess I'll try to keep killing them even though using one tissue per ant is a bit of a waste. :/

It's pretty damn hard for me to get anything done, given how I've been feeling recently. I really want to be more productive, but I've got no idea when I'm going to be well enough for that. For about two weeks now, I've mostly been sitting around doing nothing.

Me this is me. I know how it feels to not get anything done. You try and try but before you know it the whole day's gone by.

Exactly. I hate when that happens.

Get some raid and go to town. I had to Raid for my room as I had an ant problem due to various reasons, a big one being my sister left food all over before I move in.

Girlfriend's mother added me on Facebook.

They hardly ever see each other so I've never met her, this is weird, and she wants to chat.

As far as I know all ants have a flying 'variant' - it's to do with the breeding. The females will fly off to create new nest (though some might be flying males which breed with her... I forget it's been a long time since I learnt about ants). Basically, keep them out of your house unless you want things to go BAD. I'd pick up some ant-killing-powder or something.

I remember reading/hearing about flying ants ages ago, I recall the word "prince", so they may be the ants that breed with the queen.

*Googles "flying ants"*

There you go. The ants on the third picture down on the right side of the page look like what you've got, Mighty.

At least if Mighty is away for a while we'll know what happened...

That's old news now, it was talked about on the IRC.

RE: the poop happens world we live in thread 2XXX - Goemar - 08-25-2012

Some guy just poo-pooed over my joke because I wasn't in this trendy 'IRC' place. Kids now days...
