The WIP threads for the first round are now open!

It was the size of everything. I think next time it would be better to focus on quality and not quantity. I think enforcing an overall 50k rule would make it fair and more people would finish.

By 50k rule I mean someone can only use a maximum of 50,000 pixels in their entry. So someone could have a canvas equal to or smaller than of 250x200, 256x192, 300x160 or w/e as long as it doesn't go over 50,000 pixels total. Stupidly large canvas sizes kill TUGS every time.

RE: Organizing TUGS - Rakia - 07-18-2011

I kinda liked the prelims, only cause I never really work with anything that size, and it pushed me to get them done, which I hope prepared me a bit more for the actual competition.
I think I'm alone in this though.

RE: Organizing TUGS - Garamonde - 07-18-2011

The proportions with the silhouette and Heavy were a bit too much, especially for the less skilled. I think less people would've dropped out if they had easier pieces to work with.

However it's over now so at least the first round is easier (except that I suck at starting line art gyaaahh).

I cannot believe that i missed the preliminaries.

Well that just sucks.

RE: Organizing TUGS - Shawn - 07-23-2011

maybe i should temporarily bring back the sprite challenges for anyone who missed tugs but wants to compete with others...

Didn't miss Tugs, but I'd still love to take part in those.
