Day 3 - A game that is underrated (Legend of Mana)

Day 9 - A game event that made you emotional (Megaman Zero 4's Ending)

Day 13 - A game you’ve played lots of times (Kirby Superstar / Kirby Superstar Ultra)

I would like to try those, thanks. Big Grin

No really, if you make that work I will be legitimately impressed; go for it.

Well, actually I meant the whole soundtrack for the game (I used the alt title) but then again, that song is so epic... maybe I will make a critique specifically for that song. Smile Yeah, I'll do it!

Should I post what games I'm planning to do? Or does that not matter too much? It might help keep people from all doing the same exact game.

RE: VG Resource's 30 Days of Gaming! - GrooveMan.exe - 03-22-2011

You can if you want to. It's not mandatory.

RE: VG Resource's 30 Days of Gaming! - alecpike - 03-22-2011

i would really be interested in doing "Day 25 - A game you can't stand (but others like)"
so i have up until may 22 to submit?

RE: VG Resource's 30 Days of Gaming! - GrooveMan.exe - 03-22-2011

Yes, a basic understanding of maths would indeed produce that result. =)

RE: VG Resource's 30 Days of Gaming! - Final light - 03-23-2011

Day 9 - A game event that made you emotional
Day 29 - A game you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving

That should give me more then enough time between entries.Smile
Are there any rules against/penalties for submitting work early. (like a day or two before the deadline.)

RE: VG Resource's 30 Days of Gaming! - RétroX - 03-23-2011

Honestly, I would think that submitting early would be preferred. I can't vouch for the people running the event, though.

Unless you don't have the time, you should probably keep working on it until the deadline, so that you can make it as good as possible. Don't say that "it's done," because you can always find some way to make your writing better if you keep looking at it.

RE: VG Resource's 30 Days of Gaming! - GrooveMan.exe - 03-23-2011

I have no problems whatsover accepting entires before the deadline. As long as it's on time, I'm not fussed.
(This is true of real life, too. You won't get ass-pats for handing your work in early, especially if spending more time on it would produce a better result.)

Id like to sign up for day 1 if you don't mind Groove.

clarification: so the webcomic still has to be essay-style? like it's "converting" an essay to a comic?

RE: VG Resource's 30 Days of Gaming! - TomGuycott - 03-25-2011

Is it also possible to write an article and insert artwork as a visual aid of what message we're conveying?

no no. The essay restrictions are for articles only; only because those are the standard for published articles. Any shorter or any longer than that would be... inappropriate for the medium, if you get me.

And while I personally would find a fill comic page (or pages) more interesting than a 4-panel strip; there are no such restrictions.

For the most part, there aren't any restrictions aside from the aforesaid wordcount rule, and your common sense/decency.
