Wow, I woke up to a huge trove of submissions! Excellent job everyone!

I found a way to rip the sprites without anti-aliasing, but it's actually more work than the regular method. The Game smoothens the outline of the sprites by applying an alpha mask to the character. After dumping the textures to the hard disk, there's a folder called "png_by_rgb_a" which also contains the alpha mask. The sprites are now on a black background, but if you subtract the alpha mask from the sprite, you will get a solid outline

I really like the sprites from the N64 Clayfighter games. I hope every characters get ripped!
With many of you guys ripping Clayfighter games, I decided to also contribute
Here is Hoppy from Clayfighter 2 :]

I'm still gonna rip the 3 remaining characters from DBZ but I got tired of it so I'm taking a little break.

EDIT:Also, please tell me if I'm missing something

Hoppy reminds me a lot of Jazz Jackrabbit for some reason. Must be the headband. Tongue

Nice work, Solink! It seems to be complete, unless you want to include the alternate sprites from Sarge... I think. It's honestly been a while since I've played ClayFighter 2, and I can't remember if the "doppelgangers" had a completely different sprite set, or just a few alternate animations and new palettes.

Fantastic!

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 4: 2-D Fighting Games - Solink - 04-10-2011

TSR really is lacking Street Fighter sprites. :X
We had no sheets from any of the arcade Alpha games which contains my favorite sprites from the series!

Great!

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 4: 2-D Fighting Games - TomGuycott - 04-10-2011

I am almost done with all the fixes and rips for Power Rangers, I'll upload them all in one fell swoop since I'm too tired to upload at the moment. I also had a bad scare because I realized that in Weaponlord when I turn the backgrounds off, somehow the background still turns black even though Magenta is on. It's not a big deal though, since it seems MOST character palettes don't use true black. Some alternate palettes do, but that won't be a problem.

Ew, that's a headache. You're much more resourceful than I am.

Here's 3 more characters from Street Fighter:

Just Adon and Sagat to go before all the fighters from that game are done.

Also I have experienced the same situation as TomGuycott before on Art of Fighting (luckily the first stage doesn't use black as a background even though I do tile rip, it is just to check) and a couple of other games that I forgot. Hmm... I wonder if it is linked to the Shadow & Highlight feature of the console, not sure.

Excellent work is being done here. I'm loving. Keep, because it is very good.
Everyone here knows a fighting game for the PC called CatFight?
View a video:

well ... There is no sprite ripped this game. Even because he is unknown to most people. Do you think (or could) on RIP all sprites of chars of CatFight?
I know I have another topic for applications, but want to leverage that this topic is already open. And here already when it comes to fighting games. (if I messed up, I apologize ... XD)
Thank you very much ...
Congratulations for the topic.

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 4: 2-D Fighting Games - Ultimecia - 04-11-2011

This thread/project is aimed mostly at 32 bits and console fighters
Also.... What the...? A bad MK clone featuring hookers and strippers? On a Win3.11-like window?
.... Good luck with that
This game seems to be so badly programed that even direct data extracting might not be simple

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 4: 2-D Fighting Games - adriano gt - 04-11-2011

Thanks for reading and responding.
I agree with you ... Yes, it really is a clone of MK. But, say, how many clones of MK and Street Fighters there out there?
Now, you guys are ripping games that all sprites are already tired of seeing and, most of the sprites that are ripped here, just not useful to anyone.
My proposal is different.
I want this game sprites to reprogram him in engine mugen. Will be of avail for me and many others.
Keep ripping sprites in mame, or these default programs, is easy. I want to see, as you said, sprites of CatFight, with all this difficulty of programming embedded therein. This is a challenge. This would be of great merit and honor. A real professional job ....
Don't think of good natured speak chars are stripers and prostitutes.
You know the game?
You know the story?
It was following the work of the people involved in the manufacture of this game?
Don't think sure doing this type of trial. I think you have been unfortunate in that reply. (hardly anyone will not banish me after that) ...;-/
Thanks and sorry for anything.
