Why can't you make Sprite Requests if you have under 20 posts? I'm going to be completely honest: To make a request is pretty much the whole reason I started an account on this forum. I'm planning a sprite comic, and need the backgrounds. Not everyone here is to rip sprites.

Yeah, but...that's not even what the Requests forum is for. Requests is more like spriting requests, like if you wanted someone to make backgrounds or rip them for you. THAT'S why there's a 20-post minimum.
However, I do feel some sympathy for you and despite TSR being a great place to find sprites, it'd be nice to have a quick-reference Backgrounds section so you wouldn't have to practically research the backgrounds you're looking for :/

it's because you made irrelevant half-baked comments in a random assortment of threads
If you are going to join a site just to serve your own purposes, at least take the little bit of time to read the rules

In fairness, while I'm not denying my previous comments were all irrelevant and half-baked, I had been up pretty late fleshing out ideas for creative projects and doing work for school, so I was tired and intellectually lazy. Doesn't excuse that, but still, it was late so it's not like there was gonna be much discussion anyway.
I completely realize how obnoxious it seems to join the forum just to make a request. I am honestly interested in joining the community as well though, because I don't think it's fair to show up somewhere, demand something, possibly get it, and then just disappear unless you are purchasing something from a store. The Spriter's Resource has been a wonderful help for me in the past, especially during my senior project for school (I did a Flash movie parodying Final Fantasy), and I sincerely appreciate it and all of the people who contribute to it for that.

It's fine. I'm even actually starting to understand the rule: The people here don't want to be taken for granted, so you want to try and get the requesters to respect the community.

By 20-post minimum, do you mean 20 ripped sprites? Or just posts all together?

OK, good. I've only ripped once and it was a small rip.
