Embodiment of Awesome Sprite -WIP- - Gothicunicorn - 11-27-2010

Well, I'm new to these forums. ^^'
I hope I'm not doing anything wrong...
Well here's a pixel over of a drawing. It's work in progress. Can I have any critique on the unshaded sprite? Big Grin

hello! you should go present yourslef in new arrivals first.
the main problem with your sprite is that the lines arent smooth, they need to be redone. you might also want to check how bat wings work and look like in depth.
can't say much else since it isn't shaded.

first of all, welcome to the forums! hope you find it a nice place. Smile

think of wings as large hands with elongated fingers (because they are)
so
take a human hand, make the thumb the tip of the joint, extend the other fingers, and stretch the skin between them.

i know you're going for a stylized drawing, but right now the wings look like cardboard.

give the body some thickness, too, because it looks a bit weird and it won't support his head, heh.

Go Wings! (check sig)

On-topic now. Your lineart all around could use some smoothening up, especially on the wings. One wing looks like it's branching off another rather than being attached directly to the body. Unless of course that's how you designed it.
