YOU CAN RUN IN THIS GAME?!

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 3: Old-School TMNT - A.J. Nitro - 10-27-2010

Is Hyperstone Heist supposed to be Turtles in Time, but on the Genesis?

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 3: Old-School TMNT - Ton - 10-27-2010

Yeah, pretty much.

Turtle Power!

Donatello from Hyperstone Heist is up. I don't know if that's all of his sprites. If someone can check, that would be great. I might do another playable character. They take forever though. If I do it'll be Raphael.

Just had a look at TMNT4 for the SNES and wow, are the playable characters' rips sloppy. Added them to the first post.

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 3: Old-School TMNT - A.J. Nitro - 10-28-2010

How are they sloppy exactly?

i'd like to point out that the rips for Turtles in Time (snes) by Sponge pore might need to be re-ripped
they appear to have been ripped from zsnes in window mode. which is slightly blurred, thus making them useless.
notice the black pixels under the sprites, most likely of the bg from layer removal
not to mention the character select and intro sprites are resized.
finally, the throw sprites on each turtle has another overlapping the sprites

BTW shouldn't the PC TMNT games be on the list? the old DOS ones.

EDIT: darn, already pointed out

That's how. Tongue
Dolphman, I was hoping you'd see this topic. Care to lend a hand? Wink

Raphael so far. I think I missed Donatello's back attack, though it may be reused from another one of his attacks. I'll have to double check. There's also a new injured sprite on Raph's sheet, but I don't know if I can find it for Don as they're pretty difficult to get to appear. It's all about your damage, how close you are to the enemy, what attack they use, etc.

The game seems rushed, seems like Cosmic Carnage from the space theme and yes, the SNES version is better. Includes her unused 2P palette.

Is that the girl from the TMNT new cartoon? She existed that long ago?

By the way, found a few new sprites for Donatello, almost done with Raphael.

Ya I'll go back later to get the bosses I passed. And yes, that thing is called Pizza Monster according to the end credits.

TMNT2

Awesome. And yeah, the Pizza Monsters are in a lot of the games. They come fro man episode of the old cartoon. Usually they come from under water in levels.

RE: Sprite Ripping Project 3: Old-School TMNT - Ton - 10-28-2010

Hmm, found out that the spin is in this game. Does anyone know where the bubble sprites from the SNES game are used? I want to see if they're in this game too.
