I'd like it to look kind of like a shell, so the texture on it is rough. Not sure if those breathing holes on the sides help or not though, haha.. Starting to see it as looking machanical now. Might try and move past that with adding some scale texture and slime if possible in certain areas.

I think the bubbles coming from the back spikes were a nice touch, maybe you could put them back ?

it would be awesome if you did one of those "light coming from above and projecting the waves onto the object" things, but that would be something else entirely!
needs something to put him to scale. maybe a shark that's a few pixels wide, running away? :>

Yeah, it does look Dex-ish.
I don't like how its left eye is on the same height as its right eye. It's on a perspective, move it a lil' higher.
