Valkyrie Fight Tag is a fan-game... Maybe you can decompile or you can get the original game (Valkyrie Profile for the PS1) and rip it yourself.

There are some programs to rip from the rom itself, but I'm not sure which one to use to extract DS stuff :/ So far I only rip from SNes and got one Genesis rips, and both I used animget and lots of patience

RE: How I Rip Sprite? - HylianFox - 10-30-2008

I know they're not 'sprites' per se, but I have seen this site accept textures from 3D games(notably SSBM).

Could someone please tell me how to best rip textures from N64, GCN etc?

Is it possible to change the background color once the background layers are disabled using any SNES emulator? I'm in a bit of a bind, the sprite I'm trying to rip's outline is the same color as the background.

RE: How I Rip Sprite? - Kirbyfan - 12-29-2008

ok so how about arcade games? I noticed a long time ago that there's no alien or predator sprites online except like 6 different sprites of predator, and i saw 2 of alien along time ago too. So i checked again and still nuthin. soooooo im gonna do it myself. I want to get the sprites from capcoms Alien versus Predator because, well, see for yourself:

so how would i rip these? idk of any arcade emulators

and btw im new and LOVE this site!!!!!! its so organized and neat, plus LOADS of sprites. before i went to the shyguy kingdom and booooy does this one beat that and the 3 others i went to if shyguy didnt have it! i love this site!

RE: How I Rip Sprite? - Random Talking Bush - 12-29-2008

Alien vs. Predator? Use WinKawaks! It has something called "Shot Factory" which lets you turn off certain layers (and even sprites) for CPS1, CPS2 and Neo-Geo games. That's what I used to help get a lot of sprites for Tarma.

Just start up the game, go to Shot Factory, and turn off the 8x8, 16x16 and 32x32 layers so that only the sprites show up, then find and disable the shadows and whatnot. There's also a frame skip button, which is really handy.

!!!!!
Thanks alot RTB! That was a GREAT reply you gave me and i really appreciate it. You gave me detailed instructions, extra, unrequested help and even threw in a screen shot to show me...... Thats the kind of admin i love to see! =D
haha and i figured you must be something of the sort (admin/mod i mean) before i looked at the title because that was very helpful and i really appreciate it Smile

well anyways, i got it running perfectly and already have the crawling and rocking back and forth sprites of the alien. Im focusing on the color or the one shown in your screen shot, i dont plan on doing all the colors, just the black one. so ill get more later since its late and then post it all up here, and now, in case anyone was ever looking for these, they can find them. yay

but dang! didnt think ripping took so long... i thought the sprites for one object would stay the same. not change name or whatever. like when i have only the alien sprites selected(thought only one was used per object too lol) and click next frame then half or predator and half of a street sign will show instead.

Well, ripping one of the Aliens from the game wouldn't take nearly as long as some of the sheets I've ripped, so it shouldn't take more than a week. (Ripping speeds will vary from person to person.)

And, yeah, I had forgotten to mention that the sprites seem to switch back and forth between IDs every other frame, so it'll be just a little bit more time consuming than usual.

RE: How I Rip Sprite? - Hsean - 12-30-2008

Hello everyone, I hope this is the right thread to ask my question.
I just started using RPG Maker 2000 and I'm trying a few things with importing new sprites. On this website I've found many (thanks for the service you provide!), and I've a question about them: for example, in the Final Fantasy V sprite Boss page, I saved the pic on my pc and then cut an image of 1 of the monsters with Paint. For some reason I thought It was this simple and that the green background would not be seen in RM2k, since all the other monsters also have a coloured (red) background, which is not seen in Test Battle.
However I was wrong, so i was wondering how can I solve the problem and If there's a way not to do all the removing of the outline manually, since anyway I could never be so accurate with Paint...

Probably It's a very banal question, but I'm just getting started, so I hope someone will answer me. Thanks in advance. Smile

RE: How I Rip Sprite? - Heckle - 12-30-2008

When you imported the monster, did you click the background colour?

RE: How I Rip Sprite? - Hsean - 12-30-2008

After cutting the imagine of the monster with Paint, I put It in the Monster Folder in MyGame of RM2k, then opened the tool and clicked on Export/Import Raw Material. From there I went on the Monster folder and I imported again the monster because I couldn't select It in the Database... but I didn't find any "background color" option to be clickable and I can't see It now, either... Am I missing something?
