RE: Spriting/Ripping Questions? - rockmanmegaman - 04-17-2009

Do anyone know how to rip sprite from N64 (The game I'm rippid arn't 3D)? If taking screenshot and cutting the sprite out is the only way then could anyone tell me what emulator, plugin, screen revolution, etc should I use.

No, you can't just rip sprites from screenshots for the N64. You have to extract them from the rom with tile molester or use a plugin for texture dumping. I've attached one to my post you can use. To rip stuff with it, set it as your graphics plugin and go into its settings. Make sure that "Hide Advanced Options" is unchecked. Then go into the Texture Filters tab. Once you are there check Dump Textures to files. Now play through the game normally while making sure that you see everything you want to rip has been onscreen at least once. When you are done go to your emulator's plugin folder. There should be another folder called texture dumps and then the name of your game. Inside this folder are all the textures that the emulator loaded while you were playing in the best quality possible.

For some reason when i put the plugin doesn't work on project 64, Error messages keeps coming up. Any idea how to solve this?

Right, this probably isn't the right thread to ask in, but I'm in bit of a pickle here.

The YY-CHR tutorials on the main site have broken links, and I'm not sure where else to go for YY-CHR. Now normally I would use Google, but since YY-CHR's name looks a bit vague, meaning the title can pretty much be used for any program, I'm not too sure how googling will fair.

Yeah so... I suppose that's all... Thanks.

Oh darn. says there that AVG thinks that it is a 'virus'.... Hmm, guess I'll have to be very cautious.

Thank you.

I want to sprite from Wii games, gamecube games and NDS games. anybody know a good sprite ripper for wii (and gamecube cos i don't have a GC anymore) where you can rip sprites straight off the disc or cartridge? if so, tell me! if that's not possible, PLEASE tell me an alternative? an easy one? to get all sprites?
sorry... almost forgot, Dsi Ware AND tile sets as well as.

RE: Spriting/Ripping Questions? - DragNaut - 05-08-2009

Sorry, i tought of some more requirements. Anti-virus free And Legal. (i'm more bothered about Wii games sprites than anythin else)

RE: Spriting/Ripping Questions? - Dazz - 05-08-2009

Dolphin. A Wii emulator that for the most part will run Wii and GC games at 100% speed without sound (at least, has done for me) - it has a texture dumping utility.

RE: Spriting/Ripping Questions? - DragNaut - 05-08-2009

Thanks Man! I be back with 100% ripped sprites! Big Grin
I've been on it, but how do you get your wii games on the emulator without breaking my wii with the wii disc dumper?

RE: Ripping Questions - mariokart64fan - 05-23-2009
