Or I can't get the poportions to look right, one of the two. But poportion doesn't really matter.. right?

Duly noted. I'll make sure the redraw is finished before the deadline. You'll have my guaranteed.

You've had a fully shaded entry on the same day as the contest started.
And there is 14 days left.
I'm sure no one's doubting you right now.

stop pillowshading, also

RE: TUGS - Round 2 - Beginner WIP Thread - Wes - 09-15-2010

WIP lineart. I thought "space pirate" so I tried to make him look like an anlien (horn, pointy ears, 3 eyes, fangs), but also a pirate (bandana, collared shirt, scraggly beard, eyepatches)

While I shade sprites normally on a smaller scale, it's pixel art I have trouble with, since the detail varies much more than sprites (Compare the KOFXIII pixel art and sprites, you can tell the diffrence).

I'll add a little more detail later, I used yours as a ref (I know I'm lame, I am using the same cheap tactic last round). It'll look diffrent once it's done. I just need a proper lightsource..

RE: TUGS - Round 2 - Beginner WIP Thread - GrooveMan.exe - 09-16-2010

woah woah

Did you just take Metaru's edit directly? Redraw it yourself.

:\

All I have to say.

EDIT:

Still in progress, but I'm (hopefully) getting there.

RE: TUGS - Round 2 - Beginner WIP Thread - StarSock64 - 09-16-2010

I think you have opposing lightsources, your colors aren't very good and your shoulders could use better shaping

Why's it seem like you're trying to finish so quick? Don't let on to the judges that you didn't spend very long on your entry, take your time.

RE: TUGS - Round 2 - Beginner WIP Thread - GrooveMan.exe - 09-16-2010

And I'm still almost certain you just liften Metaru's edit directly without changing anything; this is very distressing

Edit: I didn't go into this thread expecting topless cowboy; I'm pleasantly surprised.

RE: TUGS - Round 2 - Beginner WIP Thread - Cobalt Blue - 09-16-2010

you're literally working over my edit,

unless you want tobe disqualified, or not even taken seriusly, rework it, make something new, or actually, work on a more dinamic protrait or anything.

RE: TUGS - Round 2 - Beginner WIP Thread - Gaia - 09-16-2010

Yeah, I have a skeleton ready to use. Guess I could start over. Skeleton Cowboy on 'da run~

RE: TUGS - Round 2 - Beginner WIP Thread - Frario - 09-16-2010

Just pick a different character all together.
Remember that in this round character design could help you. The mysterious hat+scarf combo won't do.
