Aside from making the main Request board neater, this Archive has a special purpose.
It shows you just what you need to do to have your Request completed. Most, if not all of these completed requests have been modest, politely worded and otherwise handled in a sensible, grown-up manner.
If you're not in the habit of making requests, looking at these will give you a good idea of what you SHOULD be doing to have your troubles answered.
Furthermore, some of them contain useful information that might help you out without you needing to make a request thread yourself.
