Don't listen to those bad reviews. Kirby SSU is awesome!

RE: Wario, Kirby, and More! - Phantom Killah - 09-24-2008

I'll judge how awesome it is once I play it hopefully tomorrow.

All reviews have given this mediocre scores except 1up (and they are not to be trusted most of the time). So why do I love this game?

All reviews compiled:
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/949625.asp

The worst is Modojo (2/5). Gamedaily gave it a 6/10. IGN (IGNorant) gave it a 7.9/10. 1UP gave it an A- (which is about a 92%).

I give it a 9.5/10. Am I stupid? (If you say yes, I will probably become violent and eat you to steal your abilities).

Kirby SSU and Wario I'll probably get for christmas.

RE: Wario, Kirby, and More! - CeeY - 09-24-2008

I cant wait for SSU, it looks great, even the graphics and gameplay!

RE: Wario, Kirby, and More! - KillerAslox - 09-25-2008

Well I knew what kinda game SSU was.
But I was expecting something like Smooth Moves when I heard 'Shake land'
But is SSU a Graphical remake, a Game remake, or both?
Oh and Mario, Peach and Toad are in the public at the Boxing ring Screenshot.

Super Star Ultra is a very true remake of the original Super Star (SNES). The gameplay itself is replicated nearly perfectly. I say nearly not because the game was butchered. It's exactly the opposite! The gameplay is MUCH smoother and better!

The graphics are totally redesigned (for the better). Kirby has his GBA sprite, but they've heavily edited him to a larger and more detailed sprite. He's been heavily added to to incorporate all the abilities and moves.

The music and sound effects are pretty much identical. All old tracks have been preserved, but they added in some new ones for the new modes. The sound effects are either identical or slightly edited. Most of these edits are very good. You won't be disappointed.

And the Mario and Peach cameo was in the original too. The interesting thing though was that they also appeared on the right side of the ring as well in the original (creating a sort of a paradox). This was obviously just a lazy mirror so they wouldn't have to draw new graphics on the other side. But that has been addressed in the remake. Mario and Peach are on the left side of the ring, but Luigi and Wario are on the right! Big Grin

Luigi got the boot from ringside? =<

Anyways I so want KSSU. Maybe I'll get it this weekend.

EDIT - Ninja'd. My question got answered in the post above.

RE: Wario, Kirby, and More! - Badbatman3 - 09-25-2008

Just got Wario Land Shake It today. To sum it up, it's about everything you'd expect from a Wario game with the exceptions of the flops known as wario world and master of disguise. By that I mean that this one is actually fun, and it's great to hear Wario's grunts all the time as well. Smile

RE: Wario, Kirby, and More! - Teeks - 09-25-2008

Wario World wasn't a flop. I liked it. WHICH MEANS IT WASN'T A FLOP!

Also I need a job to buy these games >:

RE: Wario, Kirby, and More! - Badbatman3 - 09-25-2008

Well okay fine, it was fun. For about 15 minutes. Happy?

The best part:
on the LEFT side of the arena, not only does Luigi appear, cheering....but mother fucking Wario in all his supreme glory.

And several Toads. Wario surpsrised me, though. Pretty cool to see him there.
