Am I the only one wondering if this new game is going to be a spinoff in a way or completely change the game? I did read "upgrade-able abilities" right? (I'm too lazy to re-read)... If these abilities carry over into other game modes we can be playing an entirely different game soon.

its a new game mode, wich means its a new way you can play the game, not a new game altogether.

short version: TF2 has not been turned into an RPG. the new game mode its basically "survive waves of enemies as your improve until the last boss".

Yeah, the new mode is basically Tower Defense, kinda like Killing Floor or Monday Night Combat.

Something interesting to note is that in the line up of all the bots here, the engineer is missing. Which could mean that:
1) Engineer bot doesn't exist, since it isn't a very mobile class without gunslinger.
2) He does exist, but just isn't in the video, and we're looking too deep into things.
3) He's the tank.

I like the fan theory that, not only is Engineer the tank, but it's some crazy fusion of Engineer, the tank, and a sentry gun, that kind of resembles Guts Tank from MM2.

Another thing of note is that, on the Machines page, the giants listed are only "the ones' we've seen so far," which may imply there's more of them.

I dunno. It's kind of hard to pick up on actual foreshadowing in TF2 through all the fanwank.

I don't want to speculate too much, as we'll already seen Valve is a pro of making fools of those who do (i.e. the whole September 2nd thing), but it's possible that the Engineer robot makes the Sentry Busters.

In any case I would assume that he does exist, since he's included in this list of the heads found in SFM. Although to be honest it would be ironic to have an Engineer robot, since he allegedly made them in the first place.

By the way, apparently this has been going on for ages.

jesus christ the MvM matchmaker is a massive pain in the ass to deal with

we needed to wait 95 minutes to get into a game with a full party



luckily, one of our guys decided "screw this", set up a private MvM server, and we all got to play

oh my god

it was so much fun

Yeah the matchmaker is severely annoying and I wish I was lucky enough to have friends to set up dedicated servers

But when I finally got into a match it was pretty fun until it crashed

I played on two different servers, not official ones. Went through probably 20-25 waves. It's pretty fun!!

That Sentry Buster at the end which took out both me and my Medic made me lose hope, but in the end we pulled through.

me being a phlog pyro with 3 ubercharges in a canteen was the only way our team could cut through the giant charged soldiers with the medics behind them

Well that was fun. Unfortunately every time I join a game, the item server didn't work for me. Guess I just have to wait it out until this update gets a little bit more stable.
