Well this topic went from a complete joke to me, to rather interesting. Still creeped out a tad though.

Play it, and if it has the same sprites posted above, replicate the 731 encounter and post results.

RE: lavander town syndrome/lavander tone - Gold - 08-02-2010

So wait, is it supposed to be that the only Pokémon you can run into on that one space is 731? 'cause on my original japanese pokemon red I've run into both a pidgey and a mankey on there just now and haven't seen any 731.

And yes it's the original with the shitty sprites.

RE: lavander town syndrome/lavander tone - Vipershark - 08-02-2010

According to that article, there's a 100% chance of encountering 731 on that tile, so yes, that should be all you encounter there.

...perhaps it's exclusive to green version?

edit- try the missingno trick using "gca" (case sensitive) as your name.

RE: lavander town syndrome/lavander tone - Cobalt Blue - 08-02-2010

ok someone could explain to me how does someone in charge of the music of the game could actually access its code and actually have the knowledge to modify it creating such a feature as an animated pokemon sprite that doesnt exist anywhere else and render it completely invisible for everyone else in the entire staff?

RE: lavander town syndrome/lavander tone - Cshad - 08-02-2010

Why does Magikarp have such a wonderful sprite in Green?

EDIT: Metaru; Mew was a complete surprise. They didn't know it was added until after it's release. Even if it's farfetch'd, it's still fun to contemplate >:

RE: lavander town syndrome/lavander tone - Gold - 08-02-2010

Yeah, I've run into a shit ton of Mankeys on this space and there has been no 731 so I'm willing to say busted. If somebody gets their hands on green then go ahead and test it but I doubt it's just in the one. (even the article says red and green)
