RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Marth - 09-04-2013

It'd be cool if they made you earn them by completing a certain number challenge battles or something of that nature. Just my opinion. For example, there could be a stadium in which you battled it out against trainers who used pokemon specific to each prior generation, and a gym leader of sorts at the end of each challenge group. For each successful generation challenge completion you'd earn a pokemon of your choice.

It'd give us veterans a sense of nostalgia while providing new/younger players with an appreciation and somewhat of an understanding of Pokemon's history.

Yeah, that'd be cool, but maybe not for the the Hoenn starters since we are already getting one for free right off the bat.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Lemonray - 09-05-2013

I pre-ordered X today. Woo.
For some reason I remember having pre-ordered Y a few months back but I can't find any record of me actually doing so...

It'd be pretty funny if I ended up unintentionally buying both games.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Chaoxys - 09-05-2013

Btw, does anyone have a flying or surfing Pikachu? I'm curious if GF added it's balloons/surfboard in it's attack animations, more so for flying pikachu since it'd be funny to see him randomly launch into the air.

Btw, if anyone has an extra flying/surfing pikachu or has access to one (via pokewalker), I'd be willing to trade for one.

New info I checked on Serebii:
-Fairy is Super Effective against Dragon, Dark and Fighting, Not Very Effective against Fire, Poison and Steel, resistant against Fighting, Dark and Bug, weak against Poison and Steel, and immune to Dragon.
-Mewtwo has yet another form! Mega Mewtwo is now Mega Mewtwo Y, while Mega Mewtwo X is just announced. MMX is Psychic/Fighting and has the Steadfast ability. MMX has a greater Attack stat. So glad I'm going for X Tongue
-Mega Garchomp
-2 new fossil Pokemon: A Rock/Dragon T-Rex and a Rock/Ice Diplodocus. They have the Bite-move enhancing Hard Jaw and the Normal-move-to-Ice-move Freeze Skin respectively. The latter looks rather interesting.
-The alpaca from the Direct broadcast is actually a Normal-type dog with Fur Coat, which reduced physical damage.
-A Psychic-type cat with a different look and movepool per gender.
-Steel is no longer resistant to Ghost adn Dark.
-Starter 1st evolutions revealed.

Chespin...rose up on my Pokemon I must hug list with that evolution. It's like a big fluffy teddybear! ACTUALLY YOU KNOW WHAT, it's like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0a/Russian_Dolls.jpg/800px-Russian_Dolls.jpg

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - soulcaliburfan - 09-11-2013

That feel when you realize the normal dog is a poodle. Ew, I don't like poodles...

I'll stick with Mewtwo Y, I don't like X's design.
Mega Garchomp looks like a murder machine, holy shit
DEM EVOLUTIONS, I WANT THE FROG AND THE FOX SOOO BAD
new pokemon shown are all awesome.
Fuck yeah this Gen is going to rule.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - redblueyellow - 09-11-2013

I am in love with that T-Rex fossil pokemon, it looks so awesome. Also, the starter evolutions look good as well, I like how Chespin's evo is starting to get balloon-like, makes me wonder what the final evo will turn out to be.

Is it just me, or does Mega Garchomp bear a slight resemblance to this guy? Tongue :

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Baegal - 09-11-2013

I ADORE CHESPIN'S EVO

but alas I'm still going with Froakie :^)
(because Froakie is beautiful. Still miffed that it didn't get fat but I'm glad one did!)
These evolutions have much more character to them than the others.
Fennekin's is kind of meh, though. It looks a little cluttered/confusing. Is there a reason there's a stick in it's tail?
Either way it's better than most 2nd evos
Here's to hoping they do the 3rd evos well! I hope they're not released before the game--I'd love to be surprised by it.

Also Heck Yes Fairy type is pretty awesome. And Posion now isn't TOTALLY useless! (It's still pretty useless)
Welp, I thought the Poodle was an Alpaca :Y
Still neat that you can customize it! I'll get it for sure

I don't know which gender is which for the cats! Bulbapedia says one thing and Serebii says the opposite...
I'm assuming the white one is female because of the sort of dress but hey you never know

I really like that team Flare has 5 leaders instead of one
it makes them more silly, which is a good thing. We need a threatening yet goofy enemy (think Ginyu force!)

MegaMewtwoX is silly though. I don't really like it. Good thing I'm getting Y C:
YEAH!
This gen is so great and I haven't even played the games yet! VERY EXCITE!

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Koh - 09-11-2013

Not too goofy...Team Rocket in the anime was already pretty insufferable with their incessant, constant rhyming, and the fact that they couldn't even win a slot machine, let alone a TR goal. I like for the antagonists to actually feel like a threat, rather than a sideshow.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - soulcaliburfan - 09-11-2013

The reason why it has a stick coming out of its tail is because it is supposed to be a broom. Please mean that it is Fire/Psychic!

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Koopaul - 09-11-2013

Mega Mewtwo Y looks too "feminine" while Mega Mewtwo X looks too "masculine"...

I don't like either.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Chaoxys - 09-11-2013

Considering the original Mewtwo seemed to be male, and the newest on movies (which is a different one) seems to be female, idk, maybe this is meant to be a little movie tie in (like the whole Zoroark thing in B&W).

More of Y Chromosomes and X Chromosomes. Gotta love Biology.
