mega kangaskhan gets to hit the opponent twice in a row

w-wha

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Koh - 08-11-2013

Sounds extremely OP if you think about Hyper Beam + STAB.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Baegal - 08-11-2013

Footage of MegaAmpharos, MegaMawile, and MegaAbsol were shown.
The video and pictures are up on serebii

Also I'm incredibly excited that all megaevolutions are probably going to have official art to complement them, considering they base the models off of Sugimori's art C:

Think of this though, Kangaskahn is pretty slow right?

No, not really.

It's actually pretty fast

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Koh - 08-11-2013

I'm sure something like a Blaziken or whatever is going to go before it, but still...two Hyper Beam hits from a normal Pokemon is going to HURT. I don't think anything will survive that, if it's not a resisted attack. Assuming it hitting twice is true. I don't see why it wouldn't be true considering that there's two mons standing instead of one.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Gwen - 08-11-2013

There's going to be a catch with these evolutions, they're not just going to be "OP THE SHIT OUT OF YOUR OPPONENT, EVERY OPPONENT."

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Koh - 08-11-2013

I dunnnoooooooo, I mean they've already given it to Pokemon that were already OP, so anything goes at this point XD. Speaking of which, I'm expecting to see more awkward Pokemon from this region. So we have Ice Cream, Garbage Bags and Gears from Isshu, and now Cotton Candy from Kalos. I'm totally expecting some other material Pokemon, like maybe Baseball Bats and Tennis Rackets, or maybe Stools and Sofas. Something way off the wall. The Sword Pokemon...so maybe an Armor Pokemon.

1 HP, moves always get last priority.
But if they survive, they get to kill everything in your party in one turn.

You're obviously talking about MegaMagikarp, aren't you?

MegaMawile's Huge Power doubles the Attack stat. It may not be as versatile as Parental Bond, but it sounds pretty OP to me.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure Parental Bond has more to it than just "attack twice".

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Koh - 08-12-2013

Even if there is a catch, there's still a 100% chance it'll make things even more unbalanced. That's what happens when you do stuff like this, in any game. Take Starcraft for example...

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - TomGuycott - 08-12-2013

Koh, the double Hyper Beam would be overpowered, but what we DON'T know is whether there is any reduction in attack or accuracy in order to use two attacks, or whether there is a turn delay if you do attack twice. Do we even have a guarantee that the MegaEvo Pokemon use the same moveset when they transform? If these are all still unanswered questions, I'd say its still too early to tell just how the balance of the game will play out. At face value it sounds very extreme, but just how many Pokemon have MegaEvo available? At this point it's all speculation.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - [robo9] - 08-12-2013

My bet is that the second attack will only be a fraction of the first one. You can't expect the baby Kangaskhan to be able to hit as hard as the adult one.

RE: POKEMON GEN 6 ANNOUNCED - Koh - 08-12-2013

Speculation or not, I would bet my life savings there's going to be something broken about this whole megalution thing. Nothing is ever balanced in these kinds of games XD. There's always something that will dominate, and that the players will flock to. It happens with EVERY game that has some sort of team customization/strategic play. Something will be abuse-able, everyone will take notice, and flock to it.

I remember when that happened with WindSlayer...the Trapper Class was so broken, it was possible to completely render other players helpless in PVP, stunlocking them infinitely.
