RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl Engine - Bahmo - 09-17-2008

I will agree that this is a great engine, even if it lacks many characters. However, it still has to resolve the one issue all fan-made SSB engines face: Namely, you can't "smash" computer buttons. How will the game resolve this; I am curious to know? I also would advise making it as compatible with readily-available control pads as is possible.

Make no mistake, though; this is the start of something big. I have an idea: since we're TSR, why not make a fan-game called Super Smash Others with this engine? Basically, a game in which all the well-known heroes are captured, and a lot of obscure characters like Kunio (sorry to tout myself) and Gex have to go save them. I think that would be cool.

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl Engine - Kitsu - 09-17-2008

@Bahmo, it's pretty simple. For running, you do it Kirby style. For smashing, you press the attack button and the direction at the same time and hold the attack button to keep charging. In fact, isn't that the same way the Wii-mote only thing works in SSBB?

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl Engine - Bahmo - 09-18-2008

Having had no desire to suffer through using the Wiimote only, I can't say. Sick

Not that I will turn my back on such a good engine if it doesn't have a joystick, but I'd still like it better if it had a joystick. Will it at least work with a control pad, even one with no joystick?

I have only just now seen this thread and it looks beautiful. Heart

Nice Job! The frames are really smooth Big Grin

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl Engine - Runouw - 09-22-2008

There is a new update. Unknown's Snake and Sonikku's Sandbag are now playable characters; although Sandbag can't really do much, and Snake is missing a lot of attacks. But the Home-run Contest has been added, and Break-the-Targets are coming soon.

Quick question: Are you going to add ATs at all?

Yes, we are planning on putting in Assist Trophies just like in Brawl, but perhaps a larger variety.

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl Engine - Owlthief - 10-07-2008

question: are you going to add the characters in the fantasy smash project? if not, maybe you could make a new engine for it Heart

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl Engine - Runouw - 10-11-2008

answer: yes, I'm going to add them as playable characters or assist trophies.

RE: Super Smash Bros Brawl Engine - Kairos - 10-11-2008

Question about the assist Trophies and (possible) bosses.: Will you at least try to add one from everyseries that has a playable character?

You should make Empress Bulblax for AT.
