So you have to win in some lottery to be allowed to buy this thing for 18900 Yens at the Pokémon Center stores in Japan.
I still think making them upside-down is weird.

It's not upside down.
When you have the system closed and oriented toward you (as it most often would be when you aren't playing) it's rightside up

It was one thing with the others, but this one is extended on the bottom, implying it is to be viewed having the system opened. :I

The Pikachu one also extends to the bottom. And like Viper said, if it was the other way around, it wouldn't make much sense, since with your 3DS closed it would be upside down for you
