Why is everyone so demanding of Iceman?

Its true he acted like a baby, caused a ruckus and ran away from his problems instead of facing them properly... But you guys seem to want too much. More than most members.

RE: Smash Bros. 1985/Famicom Wars 2 - Cshad - 05-24-2010

Someone has talent, so wanting them to jump out of their comfort zone to help them improve as an artist is asking too much?

What?

No one's asking him too jump out of his comfort zone because he did something really fucking stupid. No one is being a big meanie by saying "stop spriting Mario". No one is telling him to try something to new to try and improve because they feel like being dicks. This is helpful advice, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking someone to push themselves.

RE: Smash Bros. 1985/Famicom Wars 2 - Koopaul - 05-24-2010

Well I don't know. If he doesn't consider this advice I'm sure someone will jump on him.

RE: Smash Bros. 1985/Famicom Wars 2 - Cshad - 05-24-2010

Neither of them post in spriting discussion anymore, and Iceman has made a topic saying "please help me improve", saying he's changed and is willing to accept all the advice geared towards him. Everyone in this topic feels he has a lot of talent he just needs to try something new. This does not need to be debated. He's asking how to improve and people are giving him the advice they feel will help him do so.

Sorry about the edit. I didn't know you posted after.

Sorry, but this is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen you post.
You're literally telling him that we should not help him improve as a spriter. How did you not see the flaw in this phrase before you even posted it?

Wow this looks great and i can animate if you want...

RE: Smash Bros. 1985/Famicom Wars 2 - Koopaul - 05-25-2010

Well its not really that Tyvon. It just that I think there's a diference between helping someone with spriting and telling them what subject they should be doing.

Everyone was fine with Ridge sticking to one style and subject, why complain about Iceman. Hence why I think you its being more demanding to him than others.

koopaul, just dont post. anything at all. really.

thanks.

Okay let's just drop this. I suggest we just get back to the topic. Forget the whole thing.

coming into this thread to say you're an idiot and you can't just stop an argument with a post like this

you still haven't answered why you think he shouldn't improve. you just stated that you think we're jumping on him and that we're "telling him what subject to do" when the closest anyone got to that was a SUGGESTION to sprite megaman and a SUGGESTION to do anything else ever

is this some spriter from pt

because if so
no one cared because it was fucking /pixeltendo/ and no one was that talented or experienced yet

RE: Smash Bros. 1985/Famicom Wars 2 - Iceman404 - 05-25-2010

Koopauls right.
I mean, get real. If I started another Mario topic after this, what would you do? And be truthful.

You'd hate me! And I don't want to piss anyone off, so its like I kinda have to.

I know you guys are just suggesting it, but thats what would obviously happen if I didn't.

But lets please ge back on topic here.

RE: Smash Bros. 1985/Famicom Wars 2 - Alpha Six - 05-25-2010

The difference is

you have a LOT more talent and you should be doing more things in order to improve. It's infuriating to see people with obvious potential wasting it by doing the same subject every single time. It doesn't matter that "you're a Mario fanboy," you should be trying other things so you can actually improve. I'm a KOF/Ninja Gaiden fanboy, but you don't see me only spriting KOF/NG characters. Fanboyism isn't an excuse for refusing to develop. All good artists and artists that want to improve should be encouraged to do things that are out of their comfort zone.

@Koop
Ridge Troopa is totally irrelevant to this discussion because he is a seasoned spriter. Iceman is not. Or is he? We don't know! He doesn't do anything that isn't Mario, or other people in Mario "proportions" (lol where my shoulders at).

Also, Ridge was spriting for a sprite project. Of course he's going to stick to the same subject and style-- it's a project. If you're going to try to raise a point in an argument, please make sure it's valid and that you've actually researched what you're going to bring up so you don't end up looking like a stupid chode, bro :I'

And with that, I'm going to direct you to this post that you seemingly ignored. Even if you read it before, read it again. Slowly. Actually absorb the context of the post. It will seriously help you in your future endeavors-- provided you actually want help, that is.

If that's the case, just say "I don't want help" and we'll proceed to ignore all of your future topics. :l

And no I'm not trying to be an asshole, I'm being realistic.
let me go ahead and reiterate that this post is not meant to be hostile in any manner whatsoever

RE: Smash Bros. 1985/Famicom Wars 2 - Iceman404 - 05-25-2010

Well, I WILL do something else. But before I do do that something else, I want to actually finish Mario's stage.
