RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Filler - 09-02-2015 Been testing limited animation with layer abuse. Of course, this is a WIP. But I feel it's well enough to post. Any criticisms? RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Garamonde - 09-03-2015 Quick freehand attempt at Pearl to try and break up all the Garnet fanart I've been shelling out lately. I know her head's too big, and I've got it duly noted for the future. There is a thing if, I click 'reply', copy the URL, paste it in a new tab, I am able to see it. Great job, MJ! Here's another piece of PC drawing. Good effects, I hope.... Much worse than Hanna Barbera. Every animator who worked there regrets it, because of how low budget the production and animation was. I find it hard to enjoy Fat Albert without seeing those same damn close-ups and walking/running cycles. For your test animation, I'd suggest head movement as well. Unless you are going for Hanna Barbera limitations. RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Filler - 09-04-2015 @Dolphman I didn't place any bobs or legs, yet, as it's a WIP. May make the head shapes and scarfs to shake with the main image. Al-thought, I may not do it with layer abuse, since I find it harder to draw than normal straight-ahead animation. (Which is crazy, if you ask me) I've been using this as practice. RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - The KKM - 09-04-2015 Overall rule of drawing, that also counts for animating- go from the general to the detail. No point on doing the bobs and shape changes and all that if you're animating every limb independently and the result will just be robotic filmation animation. You should be drawing the entire general shape of the figure on each key frame. RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - Filler - 09-06-2015 Like this? The scanner messed up on the size, both of them are the same size IRL. RE: [DRAWINGS] Doodles and Finished Pieces 2.0 - The KKM - 09-06-2015 Exactly, plan each pose entirely first, THEN detail it. Even in limited Hanna-Barbera animation, I'd wager they start by planning each pose, and then saw how much they could reuse from pose to pose. Animating without a light-table or any similar tools is a pain. I think I messed up on the left leg frames, as I think they need more contrast between the amount of space they move in. |
