I suggest that you check here first though.

oh I have a question

Collette has wings right? are they just particle light thingys? or are they just not part of her battle model? I really love how they resemble both flower petals and crystals.

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - edsterisawesome - 01-17-2011

I'm not sure...

I've seen the textures but I kinda lost them... I really need to organize my folders....

But I think that it's just two square faces on her back with transparency and effects around it. Though I can't be sure...

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - valforwing - 01-17-2011

really? I had hopped that maybe they were just separated from the model, they would have been so cool if i could make them into wings to attach on to other models.

If they're what he says they are than you could easily do that. All you'd have to do is make 2 rectangular planes, retexture them and bam you're done. You may just want to look at some basic tutorials on 3d so that trivial things like this come to you a little easier.

Oh, God. These wings are nothing compared to the ones in the 1st Gamecube Game. (Which I HIGHLY Recommend)

Not really Spoiler-ish if you don't know what's going on.

I also can't seem to open the Damn .bin files in the Gamecube game.... Damn... they all looked so cute...I mean, MANLY.

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - valforwing - 01-18-2011

oh I see, now, the wings are diffinatly not solid forms. thin items like this are ausome when you want to conserve gamedisk space i bet, plus them being made of light is pretty cool, but flat wings really would'nt look good on MMD, mainly because adding rigging to wings never really turns out right and the thinner the wings the harder it is to animate with them.

wow...and i thought they just used the same charecter models over from the last game....but...they are all SD
are they chibi all the time?? or is this just during the low poly cut scenes?

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - edsterisawesome - 01-18-2011

The first game's characters were ALL Cellshaded Toons. They would fit perfectly in the game I'm making, as well as the millions of moves that they have.

If you haven't played it, then I HIGHLY recommend it. Again.

70+ hrs of Gameplay
2 Disc
Killer Storyline

And it has Cam Clarke. Can't go wrong with that.

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - valforwing - 01-19-2011

that game looks awsome...i have'nt beaten dawn of the new world...mainly because i heard that it has different endings and that one of the endings is pretty bad....I don't want to know if i got the bad one..
plus I still want to make pacts at least 2 more Were Dragons....I really want to get 100% on the monster journal but actually getting them spellbinded is hard, and then they run off half the time i do get them spellbinded

I'd love to play the game from before, but i've got to level up everyone on Dissidia in time for April 1st (Dissidia Duodecium's release date) aparently you can transfer your save data from the last game over to the new one and keep your stats...and since my original dissidia game got stolen(along with $300,the PSP, Dissidia(JAP),Dissidia(ENG),a bunch of UMDs,a FMA pocket watch and a bunch of priceless flashdrives) I've had to start over from scratch...

who exactly is Corrin anyway? and how does Corrin get hurt? Sheena mentions it in the Dawn but I'm still in the shadows on it, does Corrin have the same charecter model as he/she has in dawn?

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - valforwing - 01-19-2011

is the fighting style virtually the same as it is in dawn? like the free-roam battle thing?
Corrin is so cute looking, it's is like Vulpex but dashed with a bit of Kyuubimon
thanks for clearing that up, I wish i could have formed a pact with him, he's so cool. oh any tips for makeing a pact with a chimera or a manticore? I also saw some monster that did'nt show up in the monster journal. like a giant chimera that appears when you mess up the lighting machine inside the lightnight temple (it drops out of the sky) i'm guessing it's a boss monster, and boss's don't show up in the journal do they?

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - randomxfirerecording - 01-19-2011

I'm definitely gonna buy this game sometime. Looks great.

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - MightyKombat - 01-19-2011

@Valforwing

Yeah its largely the same as Dawn. Except in the Gamecube version, only Lloyd, Genis and Colette have Mystic Artes and they have alot of weird requirements to perform (Genis' is the easiest, just use Indignation in Over Limit mode)

Furthermore there's no Free Run button and you can't recruit monsters.

RE: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - valforwing - 01-19-2011

I kinda figured the no-pact makeing, but no freeroam? i had trouble fighting till i learned leaned the free roam option.
it's still a pretty cool game. once i'm done with my dissidia leveling up i'll try to get a chance to play it.
