RE: Costumes - Tea - 01-23-2010

But wasn't kirby's alt discussed earlier as changing the copy abilities hats to the opponents alts?

Maybe, but it sure as heck isn't practical to do that many extra sprites. Not even alternate colors are paid attention to by the actual games, much less alternate costumes like Pikachu and Jigglypuff's various headgear pieces so why should we bother doing extra sprites for them?

RE: Costumes - D2S-Speed - 01-23-2010

I think for kirby he could still have an alt. costume maybe the grey kirby which is the NES Kirby, but he could still get the other characters costumes also.

RE: Costumes - Bazzoka - 01-24-2010

Grey? Kirby's Dreamland 1 or 2 Kirby? 8-bit? No. Kirby should stay as having nothing for an alt. Unless people are willing to make alt hats for Kirby.

RE: Costumes - Ton - 01-24-2010

Kirby's going to be a hell of a lot of work as it is, so I'm not sure if we should double it.

RE: Costumes - TomGuycott - 01-24-2010

Kirby SHOULDN'T have the need for an alternate costume on these grounds:

A: He doesn't wear clothes
B: Part A is void only when he wears his ability hats
C: He gets ability hats by swallowing opponents.

If there is one character who has no need for an alternate costume, it is Kirby. However, if spriting Kirby with hats proves too much work, remember that in classic Kirby games like Kirby's adventure, he had no hats. Granted, they are a staple now, and I personally think he wouldn't be the same without them, it is not completely impossible to exclude them. Sure, it's a dumb idea, but remember it in the back of your mind. It'll save your life one day.

RE: Costumes - Ton - 01-24-2010

Nah, we've got to give him the basic hats. It's just giving him hats for the alternates that seems like it'll cause people to pull their hair out.

Looks good shield looks wierd.Use the wooden Shield for him.

RE: Costumes - Koopaul - 01-24-2010

Kirby will just get an extra set of colors.

RE: Costumes - Kirbyfan - 01-24-2010

How about Keeby, then?

RE: Costumes - Ton - 01-24-2010

Seems like the best idea. Not one I'm necessarily proud of, but it makes the most sense.

Isn't Keeby just a yellow Kirby, though?

RE: Costumes - TomGuycott - 01-24-2010

I've got it! Give Kirby Golgo 13's face.

RE: Costumes - Shadowth117 - 01-25-2010

No HDF Kirby.

On a more serious note I think this has already been said, but not every character needs a costume as cool as it would be for them too. If there's too many things to sprite it will likely overwhelm people and they'll lose interest in the project.

RE: Costumes - Ton - 01-25-2010

Once it's out, maybe a later version can incorporate alternate costumes for Kirby.
