RE: A Link to the Future - Niko Bellic - 04-09-2009

He may know what he says but I never seen him post about a good thing yet.

RE: A Link to the Future - Miles07 - 04-09-2009

You mean, on this topic. Which should show you exactly which direction this topic seems to be going unless y'all turn it around, quick.

RE: A Link to the Future - Niko Bellic - 04-09-2009

What?

RE: A Link to the Future - ProtoTroid X - 04-09-2009

No, Osiris is right, don't tell him to shut up. I don't care if you make some edits and show me, I'm perfectly fine with it.
But anyway, I'll never know if to continue.

RE: A Link to the Future - Kenjitake - 04-09-2009

a sprite is a sprite no matter what you say or how bad it is. ProtoTroid, if you like I could edit the link sprites to just how you want them. if you are happy with how it is, then say it! or take criticism on what other people say to possibly improve it. try testing animation to see if it works, I did that for my dark suit samus sheet and found lots of small errors that I fixed. I have to admit though... your light source is coming from multiple directions. try fixing that k? I am making a fangame too, remember? M5F? it has been going on for about a year and it has not died yet, you can't have your project die so soon! I feel at times it will be impossible for me to make a fangame (because I am not a proper programmer...a lot better spriter) but I push the boundaries and go farther. I have faith you can make good sprites AND a good game. you can't get any farther till ya try eh?

RE: A Link to the Future - ProtoTroid X - 04-10-2009

Thanks for that Kenji, they're not exactly how I want them, so you can go ahead and edit them to the way they SHOULD look like, just leave the pink hair alone though, I want that to stay. Well, you can if you want.

RE: A Link to the Future - Kenjitake - 04-12-2009

kay. err... so how exactly would you like it to look? minish cap like? link to the past? (I'ts Alttp style probably... but just makin sure) hmm... link has blond hair. I could try and make it blond with a tint of pink/ purple... it isn't impossible =P I'd like to know before I start.

RE: A Link to the Future - Alpha Six - 04-12-2009

You could add a bit of tint to the hair to make it look pink with a brown hue or something... if you pulled it off correctly it could end up looking pretty good.

RE: A Link to the Future - Kenjitake - 04-14-2009

I might have gotten it right... I am not the best at zelda sprites.
so, before you say something like "Hey! this is just a recolor!" it isn't in fact. what I did was yeah, recolor the original (prototroid, you gotta give me a certain style) but also just tweaked small things here and there, giving it a minishy-cap/ link to the past feel (sorta...) so as of now, just rate the colors... are they better? should they be "brighter"? (kinda dimmed the colors a bit):

you might want to zoom in to take a closer look before posting... I also tried to tint the pink to make it pink-brown, so see if that works out. once when prototroid has picked a style out, or if he is happy with the way they are but just wants some editing then we can get to the fun stuff Wink

RE: A Link to the Future - Alpha Six - 04-14-2009

The new colors definitely look better.

Fix the eyes now.

RE: A Link to the Future - Black Boo - 04-14-2009

The overall lineart of the sprite needs a lot of work to say the least. the arms seem way too short, because they end above his belt. That's the thing that's bugging me the most, so if you can fix that, then I'll see what else I can comment on.

RE: A Link to the Future - Kenjitake - 04-14-2009

ha, I knew they would! eyes... ok, I gave him blue eyes already, but they were too dark apparently... so I did what anyone else would do when it's too dark: [Image: coloringexample-1.png]

EDIT:@Black Boo: I guess I'll get to that... post it up in a second.
EDIT2: here it is. I think it actually worked out better, it shows the tunic going over the shoulders (if you know what mean) and it makes him look as... well, not so tense in a way:
[Image: coloringexample-2.png]the line art... I didn't work on that very long as you can tell =P I might when prototroid answers.

RE: A Link to the Future - WolfNM - 04-15-2009

Big improvement, the feet seem strangely close together though.

RE: A Link to the Future - Black Boo - 04-15-2009

Oh there's my beef! The body is too big for the head. Most Zelda sprites have their link's heads oversized.

RE: A Link to the Future - Alpha Six - 04-15-2009

It's a Link to the "Future," so I don't think they're using Young Link. The body should be fine, albeit a bit fat.
