Ok, I never really get it. "16 colors max, including transparency. " means that the color used as transparent also counts?

Okay, stupid question, but does it need to have transparency, I mean, can I put a color that's in the sprite in the background?

Yes, the color used as the transparency (i.e., in the background) counts. If you used a color in your sprite as the background, then you wouldn't need a separate color for transparency.

Quick question:

Does the villain have to be a main boss (ie. Bowser, Ganon, etc.), or can it be a lesser evildoer (ie. the Pain, Orlox, etc.)?

It has to be an original villain, i.e., your own creation. The whole point of the theme was to take a break from specific video game related themes x:

Since the kid drawing on his brother's Thesis is NEVER going to be finished and would probably have too many colors anyway, I'm submitting Jeremy.
