Using an actual Evolution example, why doesn't Eevee evolve into Leafeon with a Leaf Stone? With that in mind, then why couldn't Magneton evolve into Magnezone in R/B/Y/G/S/C/FR/LG? I'm just saying Mt. Moon seems very unlikely for the 'new' Mt. Coronet...
Or, if they're using some form of Sevii Isles,
1.Make a key to a hidden passage locate on an island somewhere (to explain it's unobtainability.
2.Use the key on a different-looking spot (taking advantage of the upgraded graphics)
3. Opens a secret passage, with a meteorite in it. Like Deoxys in Veilstone, only 1-way.

Mt. Silver would probably be a better spot for the Mt. Coronet thing, as it would limit you to not being able to evolve until after the game and most likely after you would obtain the national dex.

That and really, it's probably some little story part of the game where a pichu or it's trainer/caretaker has to finds the other pichu for some reason, INSTEAD of hunting down a farfetch'd.

o.o I think you still hunt down the farfetch'd, since the 'special event' has to occur when you trade over pikachu-colored pichu, which a number may not have.

I can't wait for this game, Crystal was my favorite Pokemon game ever. This remake is gonna be great.
Also, why would it matter if you couldn't evolve your Magneton in the new games? You could just trade the Magnezone over from Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. And I'm sure there will be a way to evolve the new Sinnoh evolutions in the new games somehow. I like the secret cave idea with the meteor, personally.

FireRed/LeafGreen have the largest amount of explorable area of any Pokemon game to date. If they want to 1-up last generation's set of remakes, they'd probly have to enhance Kanto rather than just make it legitamite.

This is one rule I really don't think they should break.
It would just be stupid for a Pokémon to suddenly evolve into something it has never been able to evolve into before.
