I don't see how it's insane. If anything, it'd bring them more money in if they choose popular, or once popular, 3rd party, mostly Nintendo published characters to trophitize or playabilize. Yes I just made those words up~ Why? For the curious who'd want to try those characters' source games, if Nintendo has them on the Virtual Console or they're still purchasable on modern Nintendo systems, that means additional sales for Nintendo in that regard. Not to mention the curious would end up getting the DLC for them anyway, to see what those characters play like in Smash. Additional, never-before-seen playstyles in fighting games sparks a huge interest.

You seem to project your interests onto the general public a lot. Things like saying how the DQ Slime is more recognizable than Cloud, or saying that Culture Brain was some sort of platinum hit game developer.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Koh - 11-15-2015

No, I've never said any of that. That's just what you concluded. I said DQ Slime is just as recognizeable as Cloud and DQ spawned the JRPG genre, and that Culture Brain was relevant enough back then to spawn many games, and several game series. If they didn't have any of that recognition, none of that would exist, as per the laws of business. You wouldn't continuously put out things that has been shown to not have any interest. However, if you put something obscure, or once popular, in something else that's insanely popular, you can definitely spawn an interest.

i dont think ice climber ninjas are being put in smash bros, no matter what you say about it

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Koh - 11-15-2015

I didn't say they would though. I just said it would certainly be nice, and a definite change of pace rather than yet another swordsman. Also closer to home in terms of closeness to Nintendo. I say the same to Mike Jones from Star Tropics, who is actually a 1st party character, and was THE Yoyo-Kid before Ness even existed.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - recme - 11-15-2015

the thing is, nobody really asked for them. the smash ballot was made purely for fans asking who they want in. i imagine that if these ice climber ninjas made it in, a majority of people would be pissed because nobody asked for their inclusion

i mean, some people were pissed that cloud made it in smash. can you just imagine if these weirdos suddenly made it in smash bros, just because of history and nothing else??

No one really asked for the Wii Fit Trainer, or the ice climbers, or game and watch, or duck hunt. Some of these guys did make it into smash because of history. Why's this thread so damn aggressive anyway? People speak in hypotheticals then get eaten alive.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Koh - 11-15-2015

I thought this wasn't from the ballot yet, though? Isn't that supposed to be announced next? And the surprise there would probably be just as high as people's curiosity honestly. The desire to find out what they play like, and what they're from. Google's search bar would be getting a ton of hits at that moment, lol. There will be the past generation of people who recognize them from their series, and then the new generation of people would be like "WHO IS THAT!? *googles* Ohhhhhhhhh!"

I also think it'd be interesting to see more Kirby representation.

Meta Knight, King Dee da Dee, and Kirby himself isn't enough?

The Kirby franchise is a little weird... it doesn't have too many recurring characters and its characters often play contradictory roles in each game, but there are a slew of characters that have appeared in 1-2 games which have left a lasting mark on fans. I guess it's like an RPG series that way. Gooey and Bandanna Dee are the most obvious examples, but there's also Rick (the most notable of Kirby's friends), and Adeleine, who would make interesting characters. Not to mention most of the recurring bosses, like Bugzzy and Bonkers. They're all fairly diverse and lively characters, and they'd probably go a long way as part of the Smash roster.

No they are, but there are some staples to Kirby I think would be interesting to see handled in the Smash verse, lol.  Of course I'd rather see someone new from a non-represented series, and especially a non-sword user, but if the latter happens first, then I'm also satisfied.  There are more swords than anything else right now, lol.  Need more variety, son!

Those are the only three that matter honestly.

"Bandanna Dee" or something? lol no

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - recme - 11-15-2015
