Right, the only good thing that came out of the 3DS version was Smash Run anyway.

The more I play Smash 3DS the more I realize this kind of game was not meant for handhelds.

Its Classic Mode is exceptionally and miles better than the Wii U version.

The stages in smash 3ds are better

3ds smash is portable. I know that doesn't mean a lot if you never game outside the house, but having portable smash is amazing.

Too bad it completely destroys the control stick on the 3DS. I'd probably play it more if I weren't afraid of it breaking.

idk i play it religiously and the stick's still OK

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - psychospacecow - 08-04-2015

Yeah, I can beat level 6 ai but I usually fight 3s for that reason.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - DioShiba - 08-04-2015

Wii U has better controls and it's easier to be able to see well, everything but that's just about it.

3DS has better stages and modes but the screen is so smash and with the 3DS's stick on the old one it more or less makes it a massive pain in the ass to play with.

I honestly feel that stages like Magicant, Mute City, Pac-Maze, Rainbow Road, Brinstar, and Corneria should have been on both versions in the same way that Guar Plains, Wily's Castle, Final Destination, Battlefield and all the DLC stages are. To me it just didn't really make much sense given that most of those games were on a home console before a handheld one. Far as the classic mode in both games, the 3DS is by far better and it could have been really expanded upon in the Wii-U version but instead we got some fucking board game like classic mode that, just isn't really that exciting.

Yeah it kind of sucks that when a franchise is given one new stage and its stuck on a particular version. It's okay with many Mario stages since both version have their own new Mario stages. Same with Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, Fire Emblem, and Kid Icarus.

Look at this: http://www.sonicstadium.org/?attachment_id=38636
If I can have an Alex Kidd (male) and Stella (female) wig and costume for Mii Brawlers that look like this, I'd melt with joy.

Yo, you guys actually /liked/ and preferred the 3DS stage list?

I'll pull back my competitive foreskin for this one, since obviously if I was just talking competitive viable stages I'd only play Smashville and therefore WiiU is superior, but honestly...I definitely feel that the WiiU had the better stages.

Not saying I didn't like a lot of the 3DS version's stages, like I mean Spirit Train was really cool. And Yoshi's Island Brawl is one of my favourite stages in Smash Bros. history. The three Melee stages; Kongo Jungle, Corneria, and Brinstar, are great stages, but I also feel like they are starting to show their age. But yeah okay those are great too. Arena Ferox? Yeah I like it, but I actually like the Walk Off Colliseum or the stage shifting Castle Siege more. I actually really like Mode 7 Mute City, and Rainbow Road isn't bad either. I'm even okay with Tomodachi Life. But...

some stages are overloaded with shitty hazards, like Magicant like I mean Flying Man needs to go take a long walk off a pier right now. There's actually only one scrolling stage in the WiiU version, and I definitely prefer it better than the two scrollers 3D Land and Dreamland GB. I personally think Prism Tower is a boring stage, unlike similar stages like Delfino, Skyloft, and Port Town Aero Dive in the Wii U game. Paper Mario? Could've been great, but that Bowser form at the end literally makes the stage actual trash.

A lot of the 3DS stages to me, feel really weak. ESPECIALLY compared to the WiiU version. I love Jungle Hijyx unironically, and that may be in part because I love the Dong so much but like yeah woah I could play that stage all day. Woolly World? Yeah it's kinda big but the gimmick isn't literally trying to attack me all the time. Mario Circuit's really cool, Pilotwings is really cool, and as I mentioned I'm a bit of a competitive player so I definitely like the impressive amount of neutral stages. I get that it's all subjective, but I guess I'm just a bit baffled that this forum actually enjoys the limited selection on the 3DS version.

Personally, even though some of the stages are weak I feel like that they were deserving of a spot on the Wii U version either because I feel that, they would have been either better suited for HD instead of being put on a portable console or they just fit aesthetically.

I would have preferred an HD 8-Player sized Magicant than Great Cave Offensive or an HD Corneria compared to Lylat Cruise. Don't get me wrong I get where you're coming from with how the 3DS has some shit stages but with respect to that the Wii U stage list isn't exactly that perfect either. The only real thing that saves the stages from being completely garbage is their Omega forms but that isn't enough to satisfy everyone.

Mode 7 Mute City and Rainbow Road should have gotten the HD treatment too given that, it's the original SNES F-Zero and originated from Mario Kart respectively. Which struck me odd because they're both from home console games. (this is also the same reason why I would say that Magicant deserved a spot on the Wii U version)

Far as the other mentioned Melee stages and Brawl stages in the 3ds version go, they can go either way. Still it would have been really nice to see Brinstar and Kongo Jungle in HD as well, same with Wario Ware but that's far as personal taste goes.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the Wii U had more of an opportunity to impress me with the stage list but I feel like Sakurai was being over-careful about what stages he thought would be good. I'm hoping that some Wii U and 3ds stages are at least made DLC for some of the other versions but that just goes far as day-dreaming goes unless Sakurai decides to pull a rabbit out of his ass and give it to the fans. EDIT: Come to think of it, maybe some of the stages in the 3DS version could probably work better on the Wii U version for all we know. But hey, easy come easy go.

I wish we had Corneria instead of Lylat on the Wii U just so I wouldn't ever have to worry about playing on it competitively. Jesus do I hate that stage
