Remember that Lucas wasn't leaked either.  A reveal of another DLC fighter who's "on the way" could make up for all of this, or maybe a progress report on the Smash Ballot.

As I sit here with all this talk about the leak, the one thing that comes to mind is what will become of this web site. From what I gathered, Nintendo doesn't exactly know about this place, so it's more than likely that they'll know about it now after this powder-keg of sorts originated from one of our members. You think they'll take kindly to the idea of us pretty much ripping apart their games just to extract resources from them?

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - Iceman404 - 06-13-2015

Well it was nice knowing you. TSR.

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - Darky's Manifestation - 06-13-2015

i don't think nintendo give jack shit about our cute little website right here, or at least in this case.

the difference between the 3ds summer leak and RTB's leak was that the guy who owned the early 3ds copy actually was under a NDA, while in the case of RTB he wasn't under any kind of NDA. in fact Nintendo or at least someone in Japan was foolish enough to release the new patch a bit too early and everything that followed was out of their hands.

3ds leaker committed a crime by breaking his contract, RTB only found stuff from a game he was already ripping from that wasn't out yet, and enjoyed his time with it by sharing it.

i don't think nintendo is going to catch any less because of these leaks.

You know what hasn't been leaked? Announcement trailers!

Ryu related thoughts: Yes, Capcom neglected Mega Man in favor of Street Fighter, but Smash Bros. did Mega Man great justice already. The focus for Ryu seems to be on Street Fighter 2, which had at least three editions on SNES and defined fighting games. The major legacy behind Ryu's franchise more than justifies his inclusion. If you think Ryu's overshadowing Mega Man here, remember this: Mega Man was here first and thank God he's not Bad Box-art Mega Man.

It's a shame that nothing is sacred with Smash anymore, when you think about it every single little thing has been leaked except Mewtwo. Now what is Sakurai going to do for his Direct? He can go on with whatever is planned but its kinda like the poor guy can never get a break...

It's a damn shame... One more day. One more day is all he needed.

Well, being that it's pre-recorded, he's still got a ton to show, like uh

Character movesets in detail. Like what happened to Lucas' trouser snake - does it still grab ledges like it used to? Also RTB's leaks only shared the characters (spoilers: there's more than just Lucas tomorrow) and their specials - there's nothing that he's revealed how exactly those characters are going to play. If they're returning characters, maybe their movesets have changed so they're not as clone-ish.

New modes! Tournament mode's gonna drop, and we might as well get a little more background on the types of tournies we can have. Can amiibo participate?

Stages! Has Miiverse changed since its last iteration? Will we see penises flying in the background cheering Lucas on?

Really, I think the best option announcements like this could go forth is if they say "Oh, here's the character" waaaaay before their launch, and if things are leaked - "oh, well yeah we kinda expected the character to play like that. wow shocker". Like, post-conference (?) DLC reveals are nice, but those kind of things are best left off for like, operating systems and smartphone apps. :/

eh it's an early upload for bugtesting reasons and to ensure all's ready to ship tomorrow morning after the Direct

Man, I have this feeling the eShop's just going to be straight-up....broken tomorrow from all the hype and no one will be able to buy/download the DLC

RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|The SaltySuite Resource - TomGuycott - 06-13-2015

People who complain about RTB's findings really have no grounds for it. I have a friend who somehow, despite being an avid gamer and frequently going on the internet, NEVER spoils games for himself. I have no idea how he does it, but he does it somehow.

People who are really going to be spoiling it are people who take RTB's findings and turn them into click-bait articles and videos, randomly popping up in side bars where you least expect it. Those are people you could POSSIBLY argue are spoiling it more for people. I don't think RTB is standing in line at a Smash kiosk with a megaphone saying "Mario kills Mega Man at the end", he's just showing interesting, relevant evidence to info that was already implied to exist!

Another thing that bugs me is people complaining about his Focus Attack counter. I know it's too early to tell, but in SF the focus attack is ALWAYS an attack. It's just that it can also take a hit with super armor before attacking back. Now if it does turn out to be a regular counter, that would be a little less interesting. A counter with power is amazing to think about, though.
