RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Omnikariz - 08-16-2013

Sorry for the bump, did a little Mario running animation, C+C would be appreciated.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Quotient - 08-16-2013

The connection between his leg and his foot when his right leg is forward isn't very readable. Otherwise, you have made a very common mistake. When you walk, and you put your left arm forward, your right leg goes forward. Here, Mario puts his right leg AND his right arm forward, when it the side of the leg and the arm should be opposite, so it should be left leg and right arm, right arm and left leg, repeat. A plausible and smooth animation, should these errors be amended.
One more thing, it seems that when he turns his body towards us, his shirt does not show, which is unnatural, perspective-wise.
EDIT: His leg looks kind of like it's bulging out of the bottom when his right leg(our left) is back, I'd move the outline a bit higher.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Omnikariz - 08-17-2013

So I tweaked the legs a bit to fix the arm moving in the same direction as the front leg, I'll probably end up doing some edits to this but here it is for now.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Quotient - 08-18-2013

Already looking much better! My only second thing is anatomy, when either of his feet are forward, it seems like his limb is disconnected from his body and a bit lower than normal.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Gors - 08-19-2013

when you move the left arm forward, your RIGHT leg should be in front, not the left leg.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Omnikariz - 09-15-2013

OH BOY IT'S A BUMP
I haven't posted on this for a while so I figured it would be good to get some criticism so I can sprite things less terrible better. I haven't sprited very much recently so here's my latest one.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Quotient - 09-15-2013

The anatomy is bad. His right leg(our left) is too inward. If that were a person, he'd fall backwards and be unable to stand. Besides that, his head looks like it's tilted to the side(away from us) and his arms are too big proportionally.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Silentdarkness12 - 09-20-2013

This looks very interesting. In the offchance I ever start to get even 5% good at spriting, this will make a good learning experience through watching.

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Omnikariz - 12-14-2013

I got bored and made some Starbound-y sprites. (WIP) C+C Always appreciated!

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Omnikariz - 12-14-2013

Did a running animation that went through several phases, I'd post the older one but it's really bad

Hopefully this doesn't turn out like how Neweegee's thread used to be

updated starbound sprites go

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Gors - 12-26-2013

the running animation up there is way too stiff, it kinda works as a silly run but i'd make it bounce in the y axis more

probably gonna do some tweaks on the third and sixth frame next

RE: Omnikariz's sprites - Quotient - 01-03-2014

The leg movement is too stiff.
