The only push ups I do are these

Don't worry though, they're totally healthy

they have fruit flavouring

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Zadaben - 08-19-2012

So I did 11 pushups today. I'm going to increase by one a day I think.

You know maybe
you shouldn't be, this many a day, but more, this many at a time and try to do it a few times a day, like once in the morning, once in the evening or whenever you find a few free minutes?

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Chris2Balls [:B] - 08-19-2012

I'd personally try to do as many as you can.

Let's say you can do 20, but no more.
Do at least one series set of 20 pushups a day, until you can do it with ease.
Then you add five, if not ten to your objective.
Repeat the process. Smile

Ima try do 10 a day until I can do it easily (did it this morning and my arms almost exploded). Whenever I have time/feel like it I'll do another 10 but I'll focus on doing it at least once a day.

Once I feel like 10 is easy enough I'll do 15, then 20, etc.

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Kami - 08-19-2012

I guess I'll do the same.

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Garamonde - 08-19-2012

I've... never attempted pushups before, it seemed like more of a guy thing. Tongue

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Keiang - 08-19-2012

I did 25 situps today no problem, but my dad was struggling to keep up so I stopped. Man he's getting old Cry.

That would be a set. [/grammar nazi]
Also, if starting from scratch, 20 pushups may be excessive. I would start with 10 or 15 personally, whatever you can do basically. Wink

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Joseph Styling - 08-20-2012

can we do squats instead
they are far better than pushups

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Kami - 08-20-2012

One of these days you may find me dead,
My daily workout is overkill, I've been dragged along by someone I know who needs to get back in shape so I'm stuck doing Push-ups, sit ups, squats, I'm also stuck doing pull ups,
and if Kiti doesn't kill me, this will.
I'm going to be hurting tomarrow since I'm not used to working out twice a day for at least an hour each time.

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Joseph Styling - 08-20-2012

just stretch dude

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Devicho - 08-20-2012

My arm are double-jointed and every time I do push-ups, my arms bend inward and with the rest of my body weight being pressed down on them it hurts like a bitch. I need to do more aerobics, though, especially seeing how my mom's side of the family seems to have some degree of heart issues.

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - redblueyellow - 08-20-2012

I'll join in, especially since I've been meaning to do more upper-body exercises. I can do 30 or so without any problems, but they do tend to hurt my wrists. (A good way to prevent wrist pain is to grip dumbbells while you do them)

Also, we could also try mixing the workout up a bit and just doing a "tSR Workout thread." Push-ups, sit-ups/ crunchies, pull-ups, squats, and running are a few I can think of off the top of my head.

Anyways, I really like this idea. Smile

RE: tSR Pushup thread. - Zadaben - 08-20-2012

Well I'm going to follow Cris's advice and do 15 a day until that comes easily, then I will up it to 20.
That sounds like a good idea RBY, probably just sit-ups, pushups, squats to start with though.
