Any Ideas on what that would be? I personally can think of a few.

My mom might be right, he should be charged as a terrorist. Massacre in a theatre is one thing, but add the fact he has some dangerous shit at his place, had he not been apprehended, he might have gone for another round.

A terrorist he is then.

RE: Dark Knight Rises killings in Aurora - Rosencrantz - 07-20-2012

Okay, there's a lot of facts about this case that should probably be brought to light:

1) the man who went on the killing spree wasn't exactly dressed up like Bane; he DID have a gas-mask on, which was presumably because of the chemical gases that he unleashed into the crowd before he opened fire.

2) the death toll is currently up to 15. Some of the later victims died after being brought to hospitals. EDIT: okay nevermind my original news source was still saying 15, but more recent entries are saying it dropped to 12.

3) the suspected murderer is James Holmes, who had been arrested at the scene shortly after the shooting. There are rumors that he had an accomplice in the massacre.

4) the sick fucker mentioned that he was loaded to the brim with explosives; his apartment is actually rigged to blow and the police are having an extremely hard time trying to get inside to investigate.

5) the worst part of it all is that Holmes didn't exactly have too many warning signs before he finally snapped; Ph.D student studying neuroscience and only one minor misdemeanor with the police. Though we're going to be hearing a lot more about him as the investigation progresses.

So all in all, this is extremely, EXTREMELY fucked up, and I can't imagine how any person could become such a monster.

If they baned guns from america we would already have been taken over by a foreign country. It also wouldn't stop people from trying to smuggle them in. So it's a lose-lose situation.

This part here kinda reminds me of the first major recorded similar incident, Charles Whitman.

He also showed no easily-seen signs before the act.

I doubt we'd be overtaken by a foreign country. But that being said, if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. We may need stricter laws, but banning them outright may have repercussions.

RE: Dark Knight Rises killings in Aurora - senjen - 07-20-2012

@Shadow Kami well that stinks they could at least make the rules alot more harsh for owning guns i guess, plus the fact i am Canadian and i have never seen real guns before except on tv Tongue

hope this guys gets treated harshly most like he will be sentected to jail for life.

Yes, clearly everyone should be banned from owning those evil, evil guns. You know else owned a gun? Hitler!

Not really. If someone has their mind set on killing, they won't let a lack of guns stop them. Remember, you can kill people with pointy sticks or your hands if you want. In this case, the guy might have resorted to using explosives to kill, which would most likely have resulted in even more deaths.

ITT; 14 year olds debating gun laws.

RE: Dark Knight Rises killings in Aurora - senjen - 07-20-2012

anywho i guess just make all laws based on weapons/harming people/buildings more strict?

RE: Dark Knight Rises killings in Aurora - Kami - 07-20-2012

IDK, Though I got an extra title on another forums for proving a certain point about this on that forums...

I read in an article that he supposedly withdrew from college last month, so that could have added to some of the motive. Regardless, this event and the outcome is devastating. I can only hope that the death count stays at 12, despite it being 12 too many.

Additionally, he had apparently sprayed his hair red and was referring to himself as "The Joker" - not sure why he chose red, but still. It's likely that he really did just snap.

According to CBS, he had "a shotgun, AK47, 9mm & knife" on his person.
