I'm reaaaaaaaaaally looking forward to those Hidden Hollows dotted around Unova. Especially since there's a handful of useful Pokemon with their Hidden Abilities found in them (Imposter Ditto anybody?).

Not true, if anything the order of events should be something like this:
R/S/E and R/G/B/Y/Fr/Lg
three years later
G/S/C/Hg/Ss and D/P/Pt
Presumably a few years later (going to assume 3-5)
B/W
then it goes to B2/W2 two years later.
I mean, if anything this is probably 5-7 years after the events of the 2nd and 4th generations. Yeah he's not older but don't forget game freak is notorious for being lazy with design changes. in general.

D/P/Pt and HGSS take place at the same time
R/S/E and FR/LG take place at the same time
B/W is presumed to take place after all of these, as evidenced by Cynthia~

But in HG/SS, doesn't Cynthia show up during the Arceus event saying that she's been researching the ruins? That would mean HG/SS is slightly before or after D/P/Pl.

Considering that event can take place at any time, possible. I would assume it took place after both games though.

No, they're both at the same time. HOWEVER if one thing is for certain D/P/Pt would take place after the Red Gyrados incident happens at the lake of rage (as suggested by the TV at the start of the gen 4 games) and sometime when Ethan/Lyra is in Kanto (chances are, they would have at least have to be battling Green or Red at this point.) My theory to when Cynthia actually does show up to Sinjoh Ruins sometime after she loses her place as champion and when Ethan/Lyra get all the badges in Kanto.

I think the problem is the translation as much as it is the voice actors.
