Do what you did for the dithering, only... don't dither it. Just use one smooth color.

I did what was suggested and lightened the colors since I noticed it was too dark.
Is it better now?

I personally love it, but the left (our right) eye looks kinda bad from the dot.

RE: Fake Pokemon sprites : Spinda evolution! - Cshad - 05-05-2010

What was your inspiration for the design exactly? Spinda is a red panda, which look like raccoons, but they designed Spinda by taking the name literally and made him a 'red panda'. Things like this should be kept in mind when designing an evolution. The sprite looks nice anyways.

Perhaps I should leave the face blank seeing as Spindas spots ALLWAYS look different from other Spinda and it would be up to the user to choose how its spots will look.

Well I actually just did a random doodle of what I would like a Spinda evolution to look like while at class...When I made this, I made it with a lighthearted feeling...similarly to how you know, a kid would draw one of his dragon ball z fan characters for fun. I wasn't really planning on taking it any further than just a sketch.
I thought "Hmm...A new Spinda evolution should be like all laid back looking and shit since its so drunk off its own confusion...Haha that would be cool..."
That's where I got the whole bad posture and skinny physic look from ( The ears are also skinny ) .
"I should make it look more swirly and stuff since Spinda only have swirly eyes and dizziness...they don't make me dizzy enough!"
My idea was simple...more swirly : more confusing and the like.
So I tried to somehow make its hair have allot of swirls and whatnot and make a swirly bellybutton ( Its where I could make a swirl stand out the most after all ).
Lastly I thought "Whoa now...wouldn't want to make the evolution TOO distinct from its cute little counterpart."
So I let it keep its spots, color, eyes, tail, stubby legs, etc.
As for the hair in general...I just like it. Nothing to it. Its how it is.
Little did I know I would soon become attached to it and actually finish coloring it and all.
So here it is...I completely forgot to make it panda like.

WALLS OF TEXT!

Lol, one, i bet if the Pokémon people themselves made this, noone would question that its a pokemon.
Two, there are a few pokemon with hair, i forgot what it was though, it was purple, (Originally black), had big lips, and was chubby. (and a girl, im sure)

Three, this looks awesome, although the symbol on the stomach looks more like the Wind Symbol from the Minish Cap.

RE: Fake Pokemon sprites : Spinda evolution! - Hoeloe - 05-06-2010

Jynx is the Pokemon you are thinking of. There are a couple of others with hair too.

That'd actually work out pretty well.

I understand the dizzy feel, but the hair makes it so much worse. It would be stupid for a PANDA to evolve into a raccoon looking thing with hair :/

Seriously, the hair gone would make the sprite 1000000000 times better.

RE: Fake Pokemon sprites : Spinda evolution! - Chdonga - 05-06-2010

Yeah, remove the bangs and just replace it with messy fur. It'll look better like that.

RE: Fake Pokemon sprites : Spinda evolution! - Jovian-12 - 05-07-2010

the ones with hair are mostly humanoid anyway, they don't have fur alongside hair.

I think messy fur would look great, really.

thats because it would be a oficial sprite, made by the creators of the game, for the game(and ir would run under the console's technical/graphical limitations). this is something that attemps to look like a oficial sprite, not an oficial desing. what is being critiziced(if it is) is the desing.

RE: Fake Pokemon sprites : Spinda evolution! - Cshad - 05-07-2010

Not like people don't criticize the official designs/sprites anyways.

WIP Dragon/ Electric type.
Thundrager I think.
Oh and I added the details for Pandizzy or whatever because I'm done with it.
Type - Normal
Abilities -
Own tempo : Prevents confusion
Hypnotic eyes : Moves with a chance of confusing will always confuse.
Base stats -
HP:85
Attack:95
Defense:85
Special Attack:95
Special defense:85
Speed:95
Description -
It is said that staring into any one of the swirls on its body for more than 3 and a half minutes can cause a person to become unconscious for a week.
Scientists still cannot understand how or why this Pokemon developed yellow hair around its head and can only come to the conclusion that "Its to further add the amount of confusion this Pokemon causes..."
Evolve from Spinda by trading with held item, "Swirly lollipop."
Key moves : Dizzy punch, Thrash, Outrage, Teeter Dance.
