RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Zero Kirby - 06-20-2011

Beat the first quest. Honestly I'm more impressed with how much more ease to the game there is. Four items, rearranging items, aiming by moving around is excellent, it's just much more... well, together.

The graphics are also very impressive throughout the game. I said "wow" to myself quite a few times. The final showdown is especially much nicer than it was before.

Master Quest, just beat the first dungeon, and it's very disorienting having everything mirrored. Not just the rooms, but Link's stance, too. Lighting a Deku Stick with it being held opposite as normal actually takes some getting used to. Also, the double-damage. A long fall nearly killed me. But still, it's pretty fun so far.

did they fix how the sword flies after ganon hits you the first time?

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Zac - 06-21-2011

wow there's a chance that in the inevitable Majora's Mask 3ds that all the races will be able to use items.
goron can finally use bombs
zora can finally use the hookshot
deku can finally use deku sticks

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - DioShiba - 06-21-2011

So right now I am at the forest temple,
I ended up getting to the point where I had to fight the stalfos on the second floor and it walked towards me on air, I'm just like, "what the fuck, did this even happen in the original game?"
It ended up swinging it's sword at me and I back flipped into the hole forgetting it was there, the same one it literally walked over. I raged pretty hard enough where I just stopped playing, nintendo should have fixed that.

Yes. It did.

That was the point of the fight, it's not a glitch. Try being more careful.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Helmo - 06-21-2011

if they just pull this retexture shit again with Majora's Mask I will be pissed

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Woppet* - 06-21-2011

Why? it's not gonna take your old game away from you.
But it will introduce it to a whole new generation.

Nobody loses.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Helmo - 06-21-2011

No it'd just be a lazy excuse to make money

HAHA YEAH DUDE FUCK NINTENDO WANTING TO EXPAND AN AUDIENCE FOR A SPECIFIC GAME

MAYBE THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN BORN A LITTLE EARLIER IF THEY WANT TO PLAY IT THAT BAD

BURN THEM AT THE STAKE

Get over yourself. Nobody is forcing you to buy it.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Helmo - 06-21-2011

HAHA FUCK DUDE YOU GOT ME VIRTUAL CONSOLE DOESN'T EXIST
if they're going to do a damn remake and release it for more than what it costs via VC they should do a lot more work than use Melee's textures and do hardly any shit what so ever other than "there now he looks like he did in Melee add some light viola~"

thats the problem you dumbfuck

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Gors - 06-21-2011

Then don't buy it! Smile

Nobody says you have to be impressed by the OOT remake, and nobody is saying you have to buy it if you don't want it.

Just don't buy it. The people that want it will.

You can stop calling me names too, that's not helping your argument at all.

PS: Game development is a business, and as a business, they are going to naturally go for what will be the most cost effective while still able to generate sales. Nintendo could have just said no to the HD remake in general and literally just ported over the game's original textures and models to the 3DS. The fact that they actually went through the effort to update the textures and models is a pretty nice bonus all its own.

And again-- don't like it? Don't buy it.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Helmo - 06-21-2011

Yep thats true, but Nintendo currently has a rep for making baby games with bad graphics.

They should TRY to impress us and if they want to get to the generation that likes good graphics, they should do a little work and OoT is a highly acclaimed game and a good choice to get to people.
a retexture is a lazy excuse to make money off of "omg that old game is legendary im gonna buy it in stunning new gen 8 quality!"

only it's not, if Nintendo wants to expand to a wider audience how about make the graphics better thats what kids seem to care about.

im going to call you names when you tell me im full of myself for asking for Nintendo to do a little work. They could just port the original to the normal DS and it would look almost as good as the 3DS game save for Meele kid link

PS: "don't like it? don't buy it"
thats a good one bro never would've thought of that Ive been so up for buying it this whole time

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - ZaeTelapo! - 06-21-2011

Too bad many companies do the same thing to their remakes and such.

Most just REVAMP visuals and audio and go with that. Some don't even do that and call it a remake(many gba games).

So really the fact that nintendo went ahead and revamped the visuals and apparently some audio along with a new game plus which made the game more interesting, is a pretty nice plus all together. Sure it's not the best thing ever, but bad and effortless is out of the question.

Not to mention this is literally what many fans throughout the zelda series WANTED, that or mm remake, so all in all it delivers.
