It isn't surprising that kris isn't used.
Gold and Silver didn't have a female. Crystal was just it's own thing and to improve was G/S had.
Why would we have a "Crystal" protagonist in a "Gold &Silver" remake?
They announced this was gonna be exactly what they did with Fire Red and Leaf Green guys.
Remember when we got a Pikachu as starter in Fire Red and Leaf Green? Me neither.

This is the first time the female's hat looks more crazy than the male's.
But I do think this new character looks like she'll work out quite nicely instead of Crystal.

That probably means the Pichu is in a more brighter yellow color (same as Pikachu, a brightish yellow color).. but I don't think Nintendo's known for toungetwisters.

it's just a shiny Pichu given the nickname Pikachu colored Pichu due it's similar colors.
It's is being released in Japan as a freebie at a Pokemon movie i think.
