Jesus fucking christ, what happened to my topic?

My apologies, non-retarded readers. I ran his work, and an application form we made him fill in past the other members. We all showed concern in how little he seemed to care about dealing with the project professionally (He insists his name is Kira, and responded to the question of "...are you willing to dedicate time and effort to this project?" with "i can try").

Giving him a second chance, we asked him to fill it out again with at least a degree if seriousness. It wasn't much better, and the porject director rejected his assistance. The end.

On that note, anyone good at GML? ;D
I'm sure anyone can produce more than a basic movement engine, and probably with far fewer collision errors. I'm looking in to it myself in fact, now that my current list of project tasks have been dealt with.

sapphire actually somewhat resembles her anime/game counterpart, but blue is... bad.

bad... how?
Considering Blue's design in the manga was pretty sketchy, and not especially convertable to medival aesthetics, the costume was pretty mush revamped from ground up. Her hairstyle stays the same, though.

sorry for the wait, I was trying to find an... acceptable (you know what I mean, heh heh) example.
then jarjar got his current sig.
This is what she looks like... not like your ref.

also, leaf.
blue eventually gets the "leaf" clothes in the manga, yet the design for your game doesn't look like that either.
also she's supposed to be a sort of theif type peron in the manga, but she doesn't look like that type of person in your art.

RE: PokémonJRPG Large-Scale Fangame for PC - GrooveMan.exe - 07-15-2009

Um. All you can see in that picture is her hairstyle and her white gloves, both of which were kept in the concept art. I'm still not entirely sure what your gripe is.

Also FYI, if you're a thief and you actively LOOK like one, you're not very good at your job. Blue is very good at her job.

It's mostly issues with the face, the eyes in particular.
The manga version has more... catlike eyes, giving her a confident look.
Also she wears black all the time, while yous is wearing white and blue :p

RE: PokémonJRPG Large-Scale Fangame for PC - GrooveMan.exe - 07-15-2009

Blue is wearing blue? What an illogical travesty.
Be aware that the dialogue art given for her 'confused' expression.

RE: PokémonJRPG Large-Scale Fangame for PC - Guzu - 07-23-2009

While it is true her design is based off of her "Leaf" outfit, that does not mean she's not a thief! Blue is an incurable kleptomaniac, and a very tricky little lady. This particular pose, as Groove said, is her "confused" look, as even master thieves get confused about things.

Certain artistic liberties have been taken regarding design, as we are trying to translate character clothing smoothly. However, I'm confident our Blue will meet your expectations.

Updating with a much requested (although not necessarily from here) plot summary.

In a parallel world to the Pokémon universe we're familiar with, Pokémon are rapidly starting to become a threat to society. The urbanisation of cities, and travelling across the region of Kanto becomes difficult when unknown numbers of monsters with seemingly magical powers hinders progress. In order to get by, the century-old practice of Soul Forging has been revitalised, allowing humans to convert the souls of Pokémon into tools, weapons, and other items; more effective than tools made from ordinary materials. While expensive, Pokéquipment has taken the entire world by storm, commercialised as a way humans can live free without fear of monsters.
But it's not so cut-and-dry. Soul-infused weapons are a prime target for the millitia, the government, and underground organisations. The High Councils across the regions of the country have tried their best to keep things in the balance, but something always slips through the cracks. On the other hand, individuals who find the extraction of souls cruel and abhorrent are becoming increasingly more vocal, and try to look for other methods to balance humans and Pokémon. But what happens when these philosophical differences collide?
At the same time, there's trouble brewing in Johto. Rooted firmly around a feudal political practice, the region refuses to adopt the govermental system of the High Council, and is starting to barricade itself from the rest of the country; not taking kindly to interlopers. If someone doesn't intervene and create a solution, there might be a civil war on their hands. Maybe the Kanto High Council can be mobilised to assist?
We follow the journeys of Blue - a charismatic thief from Palette Town - and Gold, a hot-headed bodyguard drafted in from Johto; as their misson to do some research for Philosopher Samuel Oak gradually turns into an adventure embroiled in the wonders of Pokémon, a quest for peace, and the mysterious-yet-influential Guild Rokka.
Will they restore political peace to Kanto? Who's outlook on society is the one true answer? Only time will tell.

I'll also go and add this to the first post.

Updating with the work of one of our new volunteers! His name's Lybra, and he's doing some badass weapon and armour designs. If any of you should be so skilled to take on and capture a Gyarados, this is what you'll be treated to:

Intimidating, huh?

RE: PokémonJRPG Large-Scale Fangame for PC - Rakia - 08-29-2009

Wow, that looks really cool.

RE: PokémonJRPG Large-Scale Fangame for PC - Vipershark - 08-29-2009

Hey, that's cool!
Is here a matching helmet with it?

RE: PokémonJRPG Large-Scale Fangame for PC - GrooveMan.exe - 08-29-2009

All Pokémon (with some special exceptions) turn into one weapon and one armour type (Helmet, Body, Boots, or Accessory). That way you can have a good mix of Pokémon to make up your equipment. You *could* use both a gyarados weapon and armour if you wanted, but then you'd be limiting what elemental damage you deal and are resistant to; just like the regular series.

With the release of Heart Gold and Soul Silver, let's have a GSC-related update!

Introducing to you Silver, the mysterious and ever-so-slightly brooding rival of the Johto region. He's a thief like Blue, but his motives and... unique sense of dress make it look a little less glamorous. He steals an important item from Professor Elm, and the poor guy needs it back pretty badly. Elm's a little reluctant to specify just what was stolen, though. Maybe it would be a good idea to put a stop to things before something unpleasant happens.
