RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - E-Man - 06-10-2014 Considering this huge step in the right direction on Nintendo's part and how they ended up with the most well-recived of the E3 presentations, I'd say the Wii U finally has this in the bag. RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Helmo - 06-10-2014 Nintendo has stepped up the quality of their games dramatically from last gen its just a shame that despite that they haven't sold... also fuck yeah Wooly World, looks like it might be worthy Yoshi game. Question, did the open world character look like Zelda to anyone else? They were emphasizing that special bow and I always thought she and Link looked alike. http://venturebeat.com/2014/06/10/zelda-creator-teases-that-we-didnt-see-link-in-wii-u-trailer/ RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - StarSock64 - 06-10-2014 the two smash players i wanted to win the least won each tournament i mean i had some pretty arbitrary reasons not to want them to win but kirby totally should have had that RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Kriven - 06-10-2014 Quote:but kirby totally should have had that He really should have. RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Iceman404 - 06-10-2014 That was fucking bullshit, the guy ran away for LITERALLY 30 seconds. Who does timed and sudden death for tourneys?? RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - [robo9] - 06-10-2014 Hungrybox really outplayed the dude. I guess the side b spam and poor matchup did him in. It's fucking ridiculous that Zerosuit has the ability to stall for almost a full minute on Battlefield But if it's any consolation at all, he won by regular tourney rules. You can ignore the whole sudden death thing if you want (06-10-2014, 08:39 PM)Iceman404 Wrote: Who does timed and sudden death for tourneys?? Everyone, actually. The standard rule set for Melee is 4 stock 8 minutes, in an effort to keep matches from becoming a 20 minute poke fest. The problem is, that's for Melee, which is a lot faster paced and they don't normally go that long. RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Baegal - 06-10-2014 Is there a way to watch it now?? I just missed it but it says they're offline or the video is private :C RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Random Talking Bush - 06-10-2014 (06-10-2014, 08:56 PM)Baegal Wrote: Is there a way to watch it now??http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo/b/537201099 Smash Bros. tournament starts at around 7 hours, 37 minutes. RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Baegal - 06-10-2014 well I found a link by someone else so I guess that will do for now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK8En6dIdAg EDIT: Thank you! RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - GaryASPG - 06-10-2014 my pick for the e3 tourney was hungrybox, so that ending was pretty bullshit but tbf thats just how the game works atm, nobody knows what they're really doing so of course it's going to end in time over ah well, nintendo killed e3 - looking forward to splatoon the most RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Kosheh - 06-10-2014 The Smash tourney was just as stupid as I thought. Literally nerds harping on BS tourney rules that probably wouldn't apply in actual competitive play. (also kirby is a scrub pick idc what anyone says, it's too bad zero was a trigantic douche with those gunnar glasses and the scarf though who figured he could just stall his way to sudden death) Splatoon though Splatoon. I don't even like third-party shooters to begin with but everything about Splatoon just screams YES to me. Between this, MarioKart and Smash, I've been pretty much sold on buying a WiiU later this year. It's the perfect blend of core and casual. Something that bothers me deep down, though is that despite how absolutely great Splatoon and Captain Toad's Treasure Finder or whatever look, in today's market I feel like they just wouldn't cut it as full-price, $60 titles as they certainly don't hold up to today's AAA releases. I honestly can't believe I'm making this comparison to begin with, or even typing this sentence - but look at Uncharted or GTA, then back to Captain Toad. Captain Toad feels like an indie title - and IMO I think if Nintendo took a different approach to it (like the approach that modern "app-store" games have) it'd succeed really well if it, for instance started as a $15 base title and then had $5 DLC puzzle packs that came out each quarter, to reel in the casual dollars. I...don't want Captain Toad to be a weekend's worth of gameplay. It honestly looks like a tech demo in comparison to the rest of the Wii U's offerings (which is funny - because Miyamoto's projects all looked like tech demos to me LOL) RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Rhyme - 06-10-2014 (06-10-2014, 01:36 PM)Gwen Wrote: Nah man, that was pretty clearly Link. i'm sorry, but..... m-maybe not.... I wanted to scream in hype when I saw that trailer. A Legend of Zelda where Link is not a male? I'm no SJW or anything but I'd be really psyched if Link this time wasn't a man and they played around with the foundations of Link as a character at his core a bit more - I'm not talking like Other M - I mean more like Link's general attitude and uh, maybe Link's gender too lol idk why I got these Tomb Raider vibes from watching that teaser. It's like Aonuma was playing Tomb Raider and thought "Well shit I think it's about time my character received a reboot as well" Also was it just me or where those science-fictiony ships floating around in Hyrule that totally seemed out of place given the games' typical settings? RE: E Three Two Thousand Fourteen - Jermungandr - 06-10-2014 Oh sure I get ignored when I link it ... My personal theory is that the character shown in the trailer is Zelda, and that both she and Link will be playable characters. The emphasis on the bow certainly suggests as much. The character isn't even carrying a sword. My ideal scenario for this game would be one that takes place after Skyward Sword, and revolves around them exploring the new land and attempting to settle the new Kingdom of Hyrule. That seems me to be the most perfect use of a perfectly open world Zelda game to me. |
