RE: Mario Kart 8 - Iceman404 - 05-31-2014

The best part about the Retro stages is that this time they aren't boring ports we've played a million times with the same visuals and level design down to the last pixel (that don't even quite translate well to the new gameplay and physics). They've tried to actually RE IMAGINE them completely and fit them to the new gameplay, updating their visuals/design entirely to feel like whole new levels.

Except when I want to play the retro stages, that's what I look for. I wanted to race on an old map with updated graphics, not some imposter map to get my hopes up. I mean as pretty as it looks, they killed the N64 Rainbow Road. If I wanted to play new maps, that's what the too four cups are for

I love how they updated the old maps.

Btw, does the horn actually do anything? I noticed nearby characters have a startled reaction to it, but can it mess them up in some way?

RE: Mario Kart 8 - TomGuycott - 05-31-2014

It breaks their items spinning around them I'm pretty sure. It also can break incoming blue shells.

RE: Mario Kart 8 - AuraLancer - 05-31-2014

No, the actual kart horn, not the item. You can beep your horn any time you want by pushing it on the gamepad screen or hitting ZL when you don't have an item.

Mario kart 8 is great, because it makes both the player and the character pissed off sometimes.

RE: Mario Kart 8 - Omega - 05-31-2014

everything but Boshi and Eldstar would work, maybe replace them with Boo and Goomba.

RE: Mario Kart 8 - Iceman404 - 05-31-2014

I would feel extremely insulted if I lost a GP to a Goomba

Arg! I'm trying to register my game in Club Nintendo but it's so busy right now! Makes sense since they are giving out free games.
