Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Rips
#1
Wink
Still in it's early days here and there's plenty of issues, BUT. I, with the help of many others on Discord managed to extract a model and textures from the game.
I'll go into the issues now:
The rigging is broken, Some texture formats are still not supported by the converter we used and this only applies to some models but, see the seam down the middle? Yeah i have no idea how to fix that  Sad But im sure someone here might!

Ripping models has been possible for quite a while now but textures are something that was figured out in this last week.
The SDFDATA archives the game uses are also a huge issue in extracting anything from the game so it's quite amazing we even got to this point.
2 months ago i thought me dumping my copy of the game was a waste of time but here we are.
I'll try to keep this thread updated with news on progress.
(I take no credit for the work on textures or model ripping, i merely extracted the SDFDATA using a BMS script by aluigi to provide samples to others.)

A download for the model + textures. No rigging or LOD's, possibly weird UV's.
Enjoy!  Big Grin

https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-31639.html I recall making a thread in regards to this game's models over a year ago, to the evident lack of support/interest from this forum at the time and mostly to this day.

But I'm glad that now (better late than never) there is a breakthrough of some caliber with getting models from this game. Every .sdfdata method I've seen hasn't done the trick (most likely due to them being out-of-date tools, similar to the issue I am running into ripping Transformers Devastation models using tools that worked only for MGS: Revengance) so I'd be more than willing to aid as a second eye in regards to any issue that arise using the possibly modified tools.

I've been using a script by aluigi to extract the SDFDATA but it runs into issues with duplicate files.
Basically some files are split across archives and the tool can't handle that. The game uses some files to load all the SDFDATA at once and pull parts from ones it needs. Both parts of a split file have the same header and file name but the following data is different, the game can check this and merge the two on the fly from what I understand. Apparently it can be faster than more traditional methods but sadly it means extraction is a hell of a lot more complicated

Update!

Some of the textures have been corrected(they are SRGB and the tool wasn't handling that well before), and the rigging has been fixed too!

I'll be uploading to the models resource as soon as it's using the proper UV's,(Right now it's using UV's i scaled and moved manually, eventually the MMB importer should use the shader code used by the game to correct UV's.)

Is there any chance you could rip Mario's Default Gun, the Banzai Bill one?

I'm not quite sure if I can.
I haven't had much luck finding weapon models so far, and the textures might be in an unsupported format.

Hey there! It's really awesome that at least a few people are trying to rip this game, it has some amazing models. This brings me to the question, is there a place where I can keep updated on what you guys discover and figure out?

Not going to lie, just right after reading this, I sort of want models from Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle on the Models Resource.

Hi. So you ripped this from the game. Don’t suppose you can rip another from it?  The mega bug

So I have these sdfdata files and they keep coming up with the following error when I try to use the BMS script through QuickBMS.
"error in src\file.c line 615: fdnum_open()
Error: No such file or directory"
Could someone help to point me in the right direction as to ripping from this game, as it has some really stand-out models.

I used the M+R Samples that I found on the first forum about ripping from this game.
