The Advance games were pretty meh to me, but I haven't played them in a while. I can safely say that the first Advance has a clumsy and uninteresting level design, since I re-played it a while ago, but the other ones I have yet to play again to judge. My biggest problem with it it's the screen size. Sonic's Sonic Advance sprite has almost the same size as his Genesis counterpart, but since the GBA's screen is a lot more smaller, you have very little visibilty on what's going on.
Sonic Rush though, is a quite excellent game in my book. DS's screen is a lot better, level design is pretty good in my opinion, the story is simple, but quite nice, bosses are interesting and hard, and the new Boost gimmick was used in a very nice way, making the game much more interesting and different than the Advance ones. Not to mention the great Special Stages, and I love the way you get in them. Still, I wish the Boost wasn't so spammable. You can breeze through a level holding the Boost button down throughout the whole level if you're good enough, and that's too cheap.
Funnily enough, when I complained about it, bam, Sonic Unleashed appeared, and guess what? The boost is EVEN MORE cheap in that game. That's one of the only small things that I hate on daytime stages, but that's another story.

On the Wii version, the boost is a necessary tactic to go for the better times. Knowing when to stop boosting (So you don't miss the shortcuts or accidentally slam into walls) is pretty important too.
Specs 'n' Headphones has been revamped! Check it, yo.
Thanks to Pik and Solink; they are sexy people.

In response to SA2(B) soundtrack discussion: Pyramid Cave is the best song in the game, and always will be. You know it.

Wii/PS2's Boost is somewhat nerfed, and I like it, because you can just run in a straight line while using it (sorta), unlike the PS3/360 version that you still have free movement and you can control when to stop.

So since this has pretty much become the general Sonic discussion topic for the moment, has anyone else heard about this? Source.
It'll be one of the best ports yet for XBLA if you ask me. Its a definite buy for me even if its just SA1 with achievements. Hopefully they'll add some neat stuff for the Chao garden and some multiplayer stuff, but I wouldn't count on it.

god fucking dammit sega why
WHY
I mean, it's cool to port stuff and make money, but...
fuck
I technically don't really have a reason for being angry that it's on xbla, but it'll probably end up being a butchered port like the genesis games.
edit- also how will the chao garden work? I assume they're going to take out importing altogether?
Maybe they'll include a custom chao garden just for xbla or something, I dunno.

I still got to get the GC version of Sonic Adventure. I got a Wii and I don't got it. But then I remember how many hours I spent getting "S" on everything and how the DC controller made my hands sore and suddenly I'm not in a hurry anymore.
They should make a Sonic Adventure 3 for the Wii and release a nice budget pack with all 3 games! Yeah! (j/k, but it isn't a bad idea...)

I have the GC version and it's really good.
I wonder if the xbla version will be a straight dreamcast port or the enhanced GC version?
Dreamcast port.
Calling it.

The way Sega's being lazy which Sonic and looks like the ports too? I wouldn't expect much.
Plus, the GC version is Sonic Adventure DX. This is just Sonic Adventure.

it makes more sense to me.
If people were smart and I'm sure they're not. They'd just buy the better GC versions that they can PLAY ON THEIR WII'S.
Also FUCK Ya'll especially you Tiv. You, Rokkan, Ultimecia, and if Joe was still around would admit your blasphemous ways. Unknown from M.E (Master Emerald) Original Version is in fact the shit. Nothing stirs a mountains' responsibility then knowing the "The new porcupine on the block with buff chest, is out the wilderness with the ruggedness"
You may also know me as Giraffe
