Second attempt at making a Sprite

I decided to scrap my original design and change the style. I increased the resolution to 128x128 and based the sprite on the art style you see in old Street fighter games.

On the left was version 1, on the right version 2 where I tried to make it more sharp and detailed (plus changed design of the baret and ak47).

It's a JPEG. You should save pixel art in a lossless format like PNG. JPEG causes artifacts, scattered pixels and blurs, ruining all detail and quality.

Damn it must have converted it when I uploaded it I'll post PNG version when I get home...

EDIT: Found a PNG version on this computer also, uploaded it.

your using a MASSIVE amount of colours I found a few which were only used on 1 pixel, its important in pixel art to learn how to hand pick your colours, smart use of colours reduces file size and makes changing pallets, lighting, shading and reshaping the sprite a lot easier.
that said the shirt lacks shading which is clearly present on the arms, the legs I can't tell the difference between shading and just darker patterns, the shoe looks a little cheap and the hat looks like a blob on his head.

Bombshell is right, there are way too many colors here. Sprites shouldn't have smudge effects applied to them, since they ruin the whole purpose of making a sprite, which is to have a sharp, easy to read image with a few colors. The shirt needs to have the cloth conform to his muscle shape, rather than just being one straight texture.

I'm noticing that you're only applying shading to the sprite. Sprites need both shading and specular highlights to help give out a sense of depth. What I'd suggest is starting off with only a few shades for each color, which would help with the overall consistency of the sprite.

As for the shirt, the 1px height stripes will make for some weird issues once that starts animating and moving around the screen.
Your eyes are gonna freak out looking at that pattern.

You should definitely consider making each stripe at least another pixel or two taller.
Perhaps even as big as the stripes on Cody's prisoner jumpsuit in Street Fighter.

if you're going to use textures/bruses for your sprite, then stick to them. dont mix 1px lines on it because it just clashes horribly(and it makes no sense to use them, seeing you already are using more detailed tools)
