Emulation Issues
#1
If this is the wrong place to post this, I deeply apologize for that.

So, about a week ago I downloaded the ROM for Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems cuz I wanted to rip some sprites from it. I fired up the game in ZSNES and that's when the problem happened:
Sure, the cutscenes and the level select screens were okay, but when I enter a stage (Or hell, even the Training Room!) the screen kept flickering like crazy!Shocked The savestates still worked, though.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? And before you ask, I'm using the latest version of ZSNES (Ver 1.51 to be exact.).

That's one of those "they never fixed that" problems. The only real solution is to use a different emulator like snes9x.
Doofenshmirtz: This is a little bit awkward but have you seen my escape jet keys? (Perry nods) What, you have? Well that's great! So where are they? (Perry looks away) You won't tell me? Is this because you don't speak or are you just being a jerk?

That's the same answer I found on other forums via Google. Only problem is that I don't know if any of the other SNES Emulators are compatible with VSNES, the program I use to extract sprites from.
EDIT:Okay, just checked out ROMHacking.net (The site that I got VSNES from) and the description says it can open ZSNES and SNES9X Savestates. So...yeah. Disregard that last statementShy

Hmm...you could always try YY-CHR. I've never used it to extract sprites, but I can copy and paste from it just fine. I used to it to make an NES ROM hack quite easily but it can also handle SNES ROMs.

Okay, now I've got a new problem. I got to the area of the game I wanted, took a savestate, but when I went over to VSNES to open it up...I couldn't find it! I looked everywhere, and I couldn't locate the savestate-not even when I pulled up the SNES9X tab and clicked "load savestate" What did I do wrong?
EDIT: Just to make it a little clearer, when I savestated the game the file was in .OOPS format(No I'm not making that up) and VSNES couldn't detect it. This is my first time using SNES9X so I'm not used to how their savestates work.

Did you check to see if the ROM was a bad dump? Usually there are games with multiple ROMs, some more functional than others.
