Paint normally leads to a single sprite being made with just it's arms changed or something.
I've done stuff in Paint but it's easier to do it in programs with layers as all the parts of the sprites can remain separate (aka layers).
Really? Everyone I know does it in Paint.
But are they AWESOME?

Lmao.. Ok, now end of discussion.
The Avenger Wrote:And you have a problem with Paint? To my knowledge, many people make sprites in Paint.

Not me. Sprites are actually easier to edit / recolor / organize / move / when using programs that have been made to let you do that easier, like Photoshop and Fireworks. Plus, those programs have built-in special effects that can be used to make the sprites better-looking or better-usable, such as Alpha control, adding a hazed effect, blurring / sharpening sprites, etc.

BAB is the one exception. If you're good at spriting in Paint, you can produce your own custom-work that may look spectacular. If you're a savant at spriting in Paint, your name is, without a doubt, Badassbill.
People make lots of things in paint. They don't have to be of bab's skill level to have been made well in paint :/.
Also, if your able to use the program to do what you want, it really doesn't matter.
This person is obviously not skilled in Paint. Why the hell is this a Sprite Project anyway? Shouldn't this be in discussion?

Maybe that's because it takes time to be good at something? It takes time to get good with the tools that are available to you.
It's not hard getting Photoshop for less than full-price if you get me...

And still I believe there's a few free programs such as Gimp etc.
You also don't post things on the internet until you at least have some skills. Leave your practice ones on your HDD.
How are you supposed to get those "skills" without first posting your worst stuff, and getting feedback to improve your work for the future?
They're called practice ones. You can tell when something is good or not if you have any sense of intelligence.
I mean here we have re-shaded Megaman sprite. Tabuu however has a low forehead, pointy ears and frontal eyes, there not on the side of his head.

Paint requires practice to get good at. Just for the sake irony my Bioshock sprite was made 100% in paint.

Paint is way better for sprite editing than the Gimp.
Never used it so I wouldn't know but I know a lot of people like it for whatever reasons.
